Get Gmail to Automatically Sort Mail by Sender

I would like for every email I get from [email][e-mail][/email] to automatically get sorted in some way. I guess a label would do it but I haven't found a way to accomplish it. Google just tells me about priority inbox. :saddowns:

Make a new label named "From [email][e-mail][/email]" or something. Filter -> from [email][e-mail][/email]. Press next. Choose Apply the lavel "From [email][e-mail][/email]". Apply filter to past messages, too, and press create filter.
