Like an integrated graphics chip and sound card? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813121358&cm_re=itx_motherboard-_-13-121-358-_-Product Because I have an idea with one.

ok, then. Next question: How much ventilation would that one need
ok, then. Next question: How much ventilation would that one need
I would say it depends on the case and CPU you choose. Most of the time you probably could just use the stock Intel whatever heatsink but if you're putting a higher end quad core or something on there with a case that isn't exactly great with the ventilation you might need something a little beefier. What kind of project do you have in mind for this anyway?
as much as any other computer. It doesn't absolutely need a lot, but it's a good idea to have it. What's your idea for this?
Ok, stick with me on this: Put the ITX... Inside a NES console. I'd put the USB ports where the current controller ports are, and the psu to the PSU slot for the NES. Cd drive to the cartridge slot. I just want to know how much I should do for ventilation holes/fan
That's been done a few times actually. It's never done with reasonably powerful systems though.

If you're just using it as an emulator you might as well save a bit of money and get one of those mini-ITX boards with an integrated VIA or Atom processor for $60-$70 instead of dropping $130 on a board plus the cost of a Core2. If you want to use it for multimedia though you're going to want a real processor under the hood.

you can, but it's not a very good idea. I would get one of the atom boards instead.
It needs at least: 500 mhz processor, 96mb ram, 16mb video card, Windows 2000/XP, Mouse, Keyboard, Internet Connection
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813136073 Go all the way and get a core i5.
OP, buy this instead: http://cgi.ebay.com/ASUS-AT3N7A-I-Motherboard-CPU-Combo-Intel-Atom-330-NEW-/260558461086?cmd=ViewItem&pt=Motherboards&hash=item3caa7e989e A dual-core Atom 330 with ION, for only $149 CAD and free shipping Yes, it's eBay. Get over it.

I would get that and an i3 or a 1156 pentium
I would get that and an i3 or a 1156 pentium
I would go i5 and some single slot gpu.
I'd be afraid to put an expensive chip in a DFI board, tbh
[img_thumb]http://www.ohgizmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/08/toasterpc_2.jpg[/img_thumb] 'nuff said.
...but does it still make toast??
...but does it still make toast??
Seeing as it's fucking cramped in there it could probably heat up a small room. [editline]09:07PM[/editline] Also do I spot a dsl modem in there???
Get a Intel D510MO and 2 gigabyte RAM for it. Plenty of juice for a Nintendo emulator, web browsing, watching movies and older games. Should even be able to handle the newest source engine with everything on lowest :v:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813500027 Very pricy, but has an external PSU so you'll have a smaller heat problem. If you're still worrying about heat, then cut out some holes around here; And add in a 40mm fan blowing air in.

Also for a power supply, if you're using a Intel Atom based board, then check out the Pico PSU's http://www.mini-box.com/DC-DC Granted you'll need a external AC/DC adapter with those, but they're so TINY
That would totally kill the look.
I imagine I could Cut a sort of vent there, instead of blatantly obvious holes, so that when you look at it, you only see the cuts at an angle And I could put the fan in the back, where nobody would see it.
That would totally kill the look.
Properly cut 45 degree slots facing backwards would probably look decent if you did it right.
That would totally kill the look.
Hole at the back then?
