• So my computer is in 16 bit color...

Yeah, I have this very old Compaq that has Windows on it, but it has 16 bit color, but I want to play the Sims and stuff but it won't let me because it isn't in 256 colors/32 bit colors. I tried to change the settings, but the only options are 16 bit and 2 colors. I tried the drivers for the card, no help. I have tried downgrading, nope. I even tried to change monitors and GPUs, no help. I just can't get it out of 16 bit color, but I can make it go to 2 colors, but that won't help at all though

Your knowledge on this situation makes me cringe, and why is it a loss? its not like 1/4 of the community just died, and your use of xD makes me think your are a 12 year old. I would also like to point out it is on every OS I install it on, including Windows XP and such.
If it's doing that on every OS, it likely means that it is incapable of using 32-bit color for some reason. Get a new computer.
But it ran perfectly fine with 32-bit color before the Windows XP it had got a Virus that wiped its HDD.

Well, if it worked before it must be a driver thing. I guess it will be rather hard acquiring those over the Interwebs, you should've saved them from the old installation. You could always just try googling the graphics chip/card in that thing.
Reinstall Windows?
I did reinstall it... Damnit, you broke my automerge :argh:
If it's running in 16 colors then you didn't install the right video drivers.
What GPU do you have?
An Nvidia Geforce 9100

I presume you've update through Nvidia's sites then?
Lol you still say "Grown-ups".
Yeah, got a problem with it? I could say adults, but that wasn't in my mind at the moment. You got pirated Windows?
I have a Compaq, Mine isn't it 16 bit. Did you update your drivers? Im running a nVidia 8600. So your driver isnt the problem
Go to the official Nvidia website and navigate yourself to the Windows XP drivers for your card.
It isn't connected to the internet, and I used a CD for it, and it dosen't have windows XP for it, it is windows 2000 since I cannot find my Windows XP disk. And the only time I download an OS is if it is free, like linux and others.
I'm quite certain Windows 2000 is quite old and does not support 32 Bit-color, so I would try to find another Windows XP disc, or if you can't find one then I would check the Microsoft website :/ Yet I am not sure if XP is free, even though I have it, so your last choice would be to travel to new OS's like Linux, Vista, or even Windows 7.

Windows 98 had 32 Bit color...hmm... well then maybe it has to do with the Motherboard or say the Graphic's Card?
Even shit gpus can support 32 bit colour, it's nothing hard or new. How do you think the intel GMA laptops have vista that doesn't look like ass (fuck you windows classic theme).
-snip retards
GET THE FUCK OUT. Reinstall drivers for video card, maybe?
Windows 98 had 32 bit colour.
Even Windows 3.1 supported 32 bit color.
GET THE FUCK OUT.
you're late.
