Donald J. Trump on Wednesday scrapped his previously announced plan to go over results from his most recent physical examination in a taped appearance with the television celebrity Dr. Mehmet Oz, aides to the Republican presidential nominee said.
Instead, Mr. Trump, 70, will appear on the “Dr. Oz Show,” but the two men will have a general discussion about health and wellness, not one anchored to the fitness of one of the two major candidates for president.
Mr. Trump has, over many months, sought to raise questions about the health of his Democratic rival, Hillary Clinton, 68, and his supporters have flatly claimed that she is hiding something about her health (her aides have strenuously denied this). But Mr. Trump has answered almost no questions about his own health over the last 15 months of his campaign, except for issuing a highly unusual doctor’s note.
So the appearance on Dr. Oz’s show, announced on Friday, had been anticipated as a potential breakthrough, as Mr. Trump’s aides had said that over the next few days he would release results from a physical examination taken last week. It was unclear when those results will be available after the change in approach with Dr. Oz.
trump on monday: "I'll be sometime during the week I'll be handing out a paper with very large number, very detailed – hopefully good statistics. I feel very confident. Otherwise, I probably wouldn't be telling you I did this, right? But I'll be releasing something this week in great detail as to a physical." wonder if he lost his confidence about it
That didn't take long
Obvious coverup for him being near-death from jaundice.

That's the Trump strategy, though: constantly make brash statements that make your fans feel good, and then after you back off or contradict yourself your fans will ignore it or explain it away with the same "you can't prove the airplanes were real" level of logic as 9/11 truthers
edit: I guarantee you that in a month his fans will still claim that he's more open about his health than Clinton, having forgotten that he went back on his "pledge"

Isn't Dr. Oz full of psuedo-science medical misfacts, though?
Or am I thinking of another reality tv doctor
Because when I think of a reliable doctor to get a checkup from I think Doctor fucking Oz.
You know, the one whose been in and out of court for knowingly showcasing and endorsing "weight loss" methods that have been proven to not work.

you are correct

No, that is Dr. Oz. If a light happened to fall down and crush them both, America would be a vastly better place.

You got the right guy. His appearance is mostly for facetime with women voters who watch the show. The program already promised not to ask him any health related questions beyond surface level "positive thoughts" bullshit.

Pfahaha
Dr. Oz is the guy who brought someone on stage to discuss how rubbing certain parts of your foot can relieve physical ailments elsewhere in the body.
couldn't stake the landing.....you know cause he didn't want to get a rib eye.....
At 6' 3" and 236 pounds, Trump's body mass index is 29.5, putting him at the upper threshold of "overweight," according to the Centers for Disease Control’s BMI calculator. A BMI of 30 is considered obese, and Trump would have to weigh 148 to 199 pounds to be considered normal weight at that height, according to BMI standards.
No wonder he wouldn't go over full details, probably has high blood pressure/cholesterol
The thing is, to all the backwards hardcore Trump followers that Oz guy will probably be seen as a true medical professional. It's probably even better in their eyes, because "he's on TV so he must be the best!"
Isn't Dr. Oz full of psuedo-science medical misfacts, though?
Or am I thinking of another reality tv doctor
He's full of more bullshit than a barrel of organic fecal fertiliser.

correct, but he wont even be asking hard questions
Wasn't expecting much after Dr Oz said he wouldn't ask Trump anything he didn't want to answer
Dr. Oz is the guy who brought someone on stage to discuss how rubbing certain parts of your foot can relieve physical ailments elsewhere in the body.
Not that he isnt clearly overweight but the Body Mass Index is a hock of shit.
can't wait to see this guy crumple in the debates after he is forced to talk to someone with a attention span longer than that of a goldfish
or maybe he'll just get silenced by the moderators for trying to yell over the other candidate

Yep, he is an excellent cardio-thoracic surgeon who realised that by selling out everything to do with medical ethics and good practise, he could make an amazing amount of money by peddling snake oil and feel good bullshit instead of actually having to do work.
So he basically went from one of the best cardio-thoracic surgeons in the world to a snake oil peddling con-artist.
Oh yeah, and he identifies as Muslim but seems to support Trump here. :v:
Not that he isnt clearly overweight but the Body Mass Index is a hock of shit.
No it is not a crock of shit. BMI works perfectly well as what it is intended to be, a population measurement. In quickly assessing a population of thousands, it provides a very useful figure, allows for easy calculation, and is accurate for most people. The few outliers where you hear about a bodybuilder hitting into 30+ in BMI, you are looking for someone totally jacked, not just a little hench.
Yes there are a few cases it fails on an individual level, and there are more useful measurements like waist:hip ratio, but BMI has very valid uses. It is just not the be all and end all that people treat it as.
probably smarter for him not to gamble the public perception of his health on the final word of fucking Dr. Oz
