Seems like this guy never even played the Might and Magic games, it's fine if he didn't like them but he's just spewing bullshit that isn't true. The only outdated ones that got worse with time are MM8 and MM9. MM8 had really outdated graphics and poor game balance while being mediocre at best, and MM9 was forced to be released before it was completed since 3do went bankrupt mid-development so of course it was doomed to be a flop. MM6 and MM7 are the best in the series in my opinion, they're about the furthest thing from a bad game as you can get especially considering they got really high scores when they came out for plenty of reasons. Calling Might and Magic's universe "generic fantasy" is a clear indication he's not played a might and magic game for more than 30 minutes since it has crazy shit like spaceships, spell-casting androids, aliens, sentient computers, dimensional travel, blasters, etc. Imagine Fallout fused with the elder scrolls; that's kind of like what M&M was.
The writer's obvious fallacies aside, I said it before in the other thread, it looks promising, Ubisoft surprisingly isn't botching this one up from the looks of it. Although, some Might and Magic titles were not exclusively turn based if you didn't want it to be, I usually played the entire combat in real time so I'm hoping that's still an option as it made the game a lot harder which I enjoyed. If they nuked it, I'll still probably pick it up anyways, it's just not my preferred method of combat.
