GNU/Linux versions next please.
If video game references are banned why not worthless videogame "news"? (User was banned for this post ("why reply?" - Gurant))
If video game references are banned why not worthless videogame "news"?
Videogame based forum?
only 200k? well thats still pretty good all things considered. falcom games need more exposure anyway. ys origin is an good and challening game with some amazing music, its too underappreciated. i would kill for a PC port of Brandish: The Dark Revenant
If video game references are banned why not worthless videogame "news"?
because it's actual news that may be interesting to some?? why arent your worthless posts banned
200k in however long its been on Steam seems low, but is pretty good for a Japanese RPG on Steam that isn't a Final Fantasy. Especially one like YS which as far as I know still isn't really "Big" outside of Japan and possibly Europe.

Well /v/ constantly talks about it so I'm not surprised that it sells. what's people's opinion here? Anyone played it? I only know that the boss fights are the highlight

I only know that the boss fights are the highlight
i havent finished it yet but its a real fun action rpg. boss fights can be easy as fuck or total bullshit, which is pretty much a staple of the Ys series. a mix of platforming, backtracking; very metroidvania esque. the soundtrack is one of the best parts about origin, imo
Bosses aren't that much of a pain. Sometimes, if you have a hard time beating one, just level once or twice before and it becomes a walk in the park, especially if you discover what skill it's weak agaisnt. It's pretty good. I liked it a lot. Wish more of the series was ported. Some are stuck on the PSVita limbo.

As Karahaut said, bosses can be either easy or bullshit (Not so much when you play harder difficulties like hard or nightmare...or when you keep leveling up to a decent stat, then it becomes slightly easier) Gameplay is a bit reminiscent of Zelda & you do not have to play all the other Ys games to get into Origins. Soundtrack is good as well & once you finish the game, there is still replay value in the form of story mode & time attack (with story mode, you unlock the character by finishing the game & dialogue + scenes will not be the same) I'd say to pick up, sale or not, as I find XSeed to be very trustworthy.
I love Ys! It's Zelda on speed with 80s hair metal. I hope the series returns to PC soon.
