Hi, I need a new, small laptop to take with me to school. About 10 to 12 inches should be ok. My budget is €600 ($800), it should have at least 2 GB of RAM and I want the laptop itself to look good also.. (the outside). So far, I like this one but everyone I've asked said it looked ugly: [URL]http://www.wehkamp.nl/computers-telecom/laptop/IIA/734081/C09_I08_IIA_734081/?KW6=525615,525614,525616,525618&KW10=114781,144049,321099,322023&PRmin=220.-&PRmax=660&F=1,2,3,6,10,17,22&SM=5[/URL] Help me find more please
It has to be a laptop? I know someone with a netbook(HP mini 311) with 2gb ram, Nvidia Ion graphics, Win 7- that thing kicks ass! It has an 11.6" screen at 1366x768(it can do 720P HD), HDMI and VGA connectors for an external monitor. No optical drive though, so no cd/dvd rom. He transfers data via USB or SDHC card. I think it looks decent, and they make skins for them too.

Kids don't need laptops or netbooks in school. Schools provide computers if you need to type a paper. If someone had brought a laptop to class in my school, it would have been taken away and your parents would have to come pick it up after school. Kids need to focus on writing things out longhand in school.
Why would you bother writing when most jobs now are done with computers. Iam taking my laptop to my english class when i go off to college, i type faster than i write so i can take better notes that way. Yes, you do need to know how to write, but look at any paper that you will turn in or publish, it is a typed work.

Netbooks bro. Asus [editline]09:06AM[/editline] [QUOTE=cecilbdemodded;23789661]It has to be a laptop? I seriously don't know the difference between netbooks and laptops.. Both are ok I guess
My EEEpc 900A is perfect for when I go to college, fits in my bag and when I need to do some computer work outside of class I can just use that, and a 4hour battery is plentliful for the whole day, I might get a ram upgrade for it but the 1GB Atom 1.6Ghz is enough for office/internet/games such as Unreal Tornament, Day of Defeat Torchlight (Best game that runs well on a netbook) and AvP Classic.
Netbooks are tiny laptops. [editline]01:10PM[/editline] @Xeloo, obviously.
I have used my laptop in school loads of times. Never once had it taken away.

I have quite a few friends who bring their laptops to school. No teacher has shown any desire to make them stop using them
