Point of this thread, Is to discuss the possibility of a southern revolt and cause another CSA event.
Whats the chances of it?
Also rate me bad reading.

Westboro Baptist Church vs. the US of A.
It is more than highly unlikely, but if for some reason the country did split apart, it would be exceptionally hard to put back together. With the political and religious spectrums flying to opposite extremes in America, I wouldn't be surprised if a Balkanization occurred, perhaps after some major natural disaster of Biblical proportions.
Unless this Tea Party movement gains a metric fuckton of support, and like all of Dixie wants to secede It won't happen.
Never. The US military would squash any opposing forces.

But what if they were divided too?
It would cause conflict on all levels

The United States Military is a COMPLETELY different entity than United States. If for whatever reason need-be they could break off and become their own country. They have bankers, doctors, lawyers, dentists, cooks, ect... The only downfall would be how to raise money. Normally on political levels the Military does not take one stance over the other rather they just do not discuss the issue. Likely hood of military splitting apart. Not even marginal.

Because I'm sure the soldiers in the military are willing to fight against their family and the rest of the country. I mean soldiers will be soldiers.
I don't think there will be a revolt.
The Tea Party is a social movement, not a revolution.

Yes because soldiers are just brainwashed animals that will fight their own family and friends because their commander says so right :downs:
Just to clarify so you get the point, you can't have a military without any loyalist personnel. To say there would not be a split in the Military is silly and ignorant.

our military would have to split into two... unless there was some sort of rebellious party with their own militia, which i suppose is possible
Actually, I think a US civil war isn't a very unrealistic scenario, although I don't think it'll be the south, but more like different political extremists (Fundementalist christians maybe?) that starts to fight.
Only in alternate history scenarios. One of my favorite mods for Hearts of Iron 2 involves an American Civil War, but with the social tensions of the 1930s.
VBS did a great short documentary on the possible second civil war.

How to cause a civil war:
Destroy US government suddenly, watch split in opinions on who should lead and how.
Economic destruction, larger states secede.
Partisanship in hard times causes uber split and ideological war.
Southern secessionists gain power in government as distaste for left politics increases due to bad leadership.
Etc etc

Personally I'm pretty certain the only way that it would happen is via Jericho-like events, in which the entirety of the federal and legislative branches of government are destroyed, as well as mass amounts of people, and different regions side with different possible leaders, or one side exploits it to gain power.
I can make the neighbours fight eachother for fifty cents.
If war breaks out, you all better read up on this site to live :clint:

Exactly.
I live in the great state of Mississippi, let me explain.
First of all, there was never a Civil War, the Confederacy was a recognized government in France and Britain. Second, don't call it the Civil War, call it the War Between the States, or War of Northern Aggression. Third of all, no there will never be a Civil War part 2 because there are more blacks than whites in the state of Mississippi and we are so lazy we can't even collect taxes. That is why we are the largest recipient in Federal Tax dollars per-capita.
EDIT: The only way there could be another civil war is when we cure diabetes and get off our fat lazy asses.
The cool thing about forming a new country though is that we could repudiate our debts and say bye bye China.

You have to be a troll.
France and England NEVER recognized the CSA as an independent nation.
It's officially called "The American Civil War", the "War Between the States", although more accurate, is usually used by pro-confederates after the war.
IF there were to be another civil war, what the fuck does more blacks than whites have to do with it? You automatically assume it'll be on race?
Get your mind out of the 1870s.

Well you might want to get your own terminology right, as at the time, it was known as The War of Secession, primarily. It was a civil war, because it was a war between a single nation- just because two nations accept its government does not mean it holds a proper government, a unified people, or most importantly sovereignty, which, as we all know, the Union made an effort to prevent. Had they successfully seceded and were able to defend their sovereignty, they would have been a sovereign government, and it would have been a war of secession and not a civil war. Thanks to the Union, the government was never able to defend their claimed territory for long enough to become officially sovereign from the United States.
And a civil war is bound to happen again, just probably not North vs South or anytime soon.
