Summary:
A drug task force video of an arrest differs markedly from the police reports written by the plainclothes detectives involved in the incident, The Kansas City Star reports.
The video — available below — begins with the final moments of a car chase between Timothy Whittle and two plainclothes detectives, Michael Chinn and Kip Bartlett.
Other snippets I found interesting
In the video, the first detective to arrive immediately sat on Whittle and attempted to restrain him. When the second officer — identified as Chinn — arrived, he kicked Whittle in the face, then held a Taser to Whittle’s back and used it to subdue him. Chinn then gave handcuffs to his partner, who cuffed Whittle. When Whittle lifted his face, blood can be seen streaming down it from a gash above his eyes.

He did mention that Whittle sustained “two small cuts” above his eye, but wrote that “Whittle told me he had hit his head on the windshield when he jumped a mound of dirt in one of the fields.”
In the video, however, there is no blood on Whittle’s face until after he is kicked by the detective.
According to The Star, “the full chase and arrest video…shows other instances where the officer’s written reports don’t match the video.”
Very interesting

Looks like they might have been a little pissed off about having to chase him
Wow what the fuck, he visibly surrendered at that point.
That fucker should get booted off the force in an instant and then charged for trying to cover up being a massive asshole.
I'm 99% sure the dude didn't realize that the heli had that great of magnification. Seriously, that shit looks like someone was standing right there. Probably thought nobody would be able to make out what was going on.

But still, i'ts not a good reason to kick someone in the face like that.

You could even say that it's in fact, illegal.

By no means am I condoning his actions, just to clear that up. It's a very serious matter and regardless of what laws the man may have broken I think he is due compensation especially if he is left with a permanent scar
Chinn and Bartlett were members of the Mid-Missouri Drug Task Force, and they were approaching Whittle’s home in order to serve a warrant allowing them to search the premises for materials used to manufacture methamphetamine — but they never got the chance, as Whittle and another man left the home in an SUV and drove to a nearby property.
Meth dealers and cooks are obvious dirt bags usually deserving of any pain directed towards them, but the knee to the face was wholly unnecessary in the case of already having someone sitting on the suspect. The source never states what was found in his home, or whether or not he had cooking materials in it. What can happen is the guy has a civil case and sues the PD for unreasonable force, but at the same time if he was cooking, he's got bigger, more long term problems than a knee to the face. I'm curious as to what was in the truck, and if they noticed the police before leaving. If they had no idea the cops where there they should have waited and followed him instead. Obviously this is all easy to say in hindsight and as an outside observer, but at the same time, the guy who got kicked doesn't appear to be an innocent person considering the allegations.
Simply put, he can sue for the knee to the face, but he'll have to serve a sentence if he was guilty of cooking meth. The guy is looking at 2 to 20 years if convicted, if his operation is large and he's producing over 400 grams (4/5ths of a pound, which is about 10k street value) of meth at a time, he's looking at 15 to life basically.

Yeah, he's a possible shithead, but that's completely irrelevant. Innocent until proven guilty, and that kick isn't okay regardless.

It's all irrelevant. He surrendered and stopped resisting - any and all violence is supposed to stop right then and there.

That's why I said he can (and likely will) sue the department for the excessive force deployed on his forehead, but at the same time it's not going to help him stay out of prison if he's guilty of his charges.
A kick to the head can easily kill.
Owch. That's quite a bit of blood. Fuck.
Wait police choppers can zoom in that close? Like holy shit that's amazing.

even though its incredibly heartless of me thats all i was thinking of as well
Totally unjustified violence
If you're going to hit someone to blow off your own steam, avoid the fucking head dumbshits
Owch. That's quite a bit of blood. Fuck.
Head wounds usually look a lot worse than they are.

tbh if you blow of steam by hitting people, you prolly shouldnt be a cop
Head wounds usually look a lot worse than they are.
A swift kick to the head wouldn't bother you, then?
A swift kick to the head wouldn't bother you, then?
His point about head wounds are true. Head wounds bleed a lot for the smallest stuff.
tbh if you blow of steam by hitting people, you prolly shouldnt be a cop
Agreed, that kind of person should be locked up.
Agreed, that kind of person should be locked up.
Yeah, imprison all martial arts practitioners
His point about head wounds are true. Head wounds bleed a lot for the smallest stuff.
But at the same time, being kicked in the head can be quite dangerous, no? A disproportionate percentage of homeless people have gotten concussions prior to becoming homeless..
Agreed, that kind of person should be locked up.
Our prisons are already bursting at the seams.
Yeah, imprison all martial arts practitioners
Martial arts practitioners don't blow of steam by hitting people, I'm pretty sure they actually know how to control their anger quite well through meditation etc.

I used to be heavily into Karate (even won 1st and 2nd place trophies n' shit at nationals back in the day), and I can say that's one of the biggest things we were taught. Controlling your anger and emotions is just as important as learning how to pluck someone's goddamn eye out... which feels a tad bit ironic at times... but yeah... you get my point... I don't, actually. I forgot where I was going with this.
It really really sucks that these people are somehow allowed to be police
But at the same time, being kicked in the head can be quite dangerous, no? A disproportionate percentage of homeless people have gotten concussions prior to becoming homeless..
No one, and I do mean NO ONE, in this thread has posted anything against this.
Head wounds usually look a lot worse than they are.
Are you serious? There are cases where people hit their head on stuff (often in car accidents) and have brain matter leaking out of their ear and don't even realize it
Head wounds are usually a lot more serious than they look, you've got it backwards
They can fucking get over it and act like adults instead of angry children.
