OnePlus’ Impressive Smartphone Will Finally Go On Sale To All — But Only For An Hour
If you’ve been in the market for OnePlus One, the hugely impressive $299 Android smartphone that is available by invite only — thus far — then your luck is in. The startup has announced that it will make its first smartphone available to all members of the public, but for a one hour window only.
The impressive device will be available to buy for an hour on October 27, starting from 15:00 GMT — that’s 08:00 PST, or 11:00 EST. The company is allowing would-be customers to pre-order their phone from today, so there’s no need to stand still until then. Those who pre-order now but manage to grab an invite before October 27 can skip the queue and order their device right away, so there’s no danger of being stuck waiting.
this phone easily has the worst marketing ever
see the smash your phone contest and how well that turned out
it's a shame that such a good phone is produced by such a terrible company
Unfortunately, some eager OnePlus One fans have already started smashing their handsets well ahead of the promotion’s start
Sounds like a user error
Sounds like a user error
theres also the huge amount of people pissed off during that due to the fact you should donate your phone to those that need it rather than smashing it
not to mention smashing a phone is bad due to chemicals/batteries/etc

Ladies first incident was considerably worse tbh
this seems like a pretty great phone. it seems like it's worth getting if you can get it? business practices aside, just as a phone itself
JUST SELL THE FUCKING PHONE PUBLICLY
I have the phone from a little while back and I like it. Got the black 64GB model and cannot complain - I went from a Nexus 5.

How do you like it, Currently using a nexus 5 and im probably just going to jump to the nexus 6 pending it doesnt come with bloatware like the rest and is vanilla android.

I like it, I went to use my Nexus the other day and have noticed I'm already used to the size of the OnePlus. It has some nice features as it uses cyanogenmod, although I imagine the Nexus 6 will also be very nice, the price does make it a good deal though.

Can't find it on google. Link or explanation about that incident?

Do you honestly think they wouldn't do that if they could?
If they sold them like after Christmas or whatever too that would be great. I need a replacement for my Nexus 4 but I'm saving up my money to buy others christmas gifts.
Dumbcunts just sell the phone.

i think you mean
gee i sure do wish selling millions of phones was possible for a foreign start up company due to huge unexpected high demand! then i could possibly purchase one!

of course they want to sell the phone, they are a company, do you actually think they aren't doing it intentionally?
"pfft nah let's just troll consumers lmao, fuck making money! hahaha! what a joke!"
They are just a business testing out a marketing strategy, I'm sure if it fails that bad they'll just sell publically
They'll be in ebay a minute after the sale starts.
Had the chance to try one out today, it is a great phone at that price.

why did you switch from a nexus 5 to a 1+1? They seem like extremely similar devices.
I have one and it's the best phone i've ever used. I managed to snag an invite and handed out about 10 invites myself so far, I came from an iphone 4. But yeah, they do this whole marketing thing really damn bad.
I've got one and it's fantastic! Only issue I had was getting the phone; they shipped it to the wrong city.

Whats so great about it? 16 GB without any cardslots? I could get a much cheaper Moto G with a cardslot for memory extension

I was about the post the same thing. It just seems like another phone to me.

Eh, most people don't even fill their 16 gb.
I wonder how much those invites are being sold for...

Usually when people talk about the OnePlus and Nexus 5 its comparing them and deciding which to get.
I have have to ask why go to the OnePlus if you owned a Nexus 5 prior? The improvements seem so marginal that I would have saved a little more and got something that justified an upgrade.

UNless you got an invite for free than nevermind
Eh, most people don't even fill their 16 gb.
And yet I remember hearing about people saying how they easily filled up their classic, large iPods.

They could be doing that, trying to make some false sense of exclusivity to make people pay more for it.
See Ferrari, Lamborghini, and Rolex, for examples of companies that do the same
Reminds me of that one south park episode where cartman buys a theme park and advertises that nobody can get in.
