• Got somekind of malware downloader

I have some kind of malware downloader. Not exactly sure how I got it but it's either from an old forum I recently went to, demonoid, or from Ross Scott's blog page. I'm having AVG scan but it's not finding anything and I keep getting oddly nammed EXE files flagged. I didn't download anything either, it must have come through a cookie or something. So what should I do? A new one gets generated every 5 seconds and they're in 30 kb file sizes. [editline]05:18PM[/editline] I found an application with the name 0.97 (Numbers continue in an almost random string) and the description was File Downloader. I ended the process but can't find the exe.
Boot in safemode, run your virus scanners, preferably Malwarebytes, post results.
Yeah Malwarebytes is good for clearing crap like that out. http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam-download.php
Already cleared it while FP was down yesterday.
Get rid of that crappy AVG software.

Anyways I plan to use comodo when I reinstall windows.

avast! is like a fucking rootkit. You can't get disable it if you want to do something else without booting in safemode and removing it completely.

You can easily turn off avast at any time, and uninstalling is also easy. I believe you're thinking of Norton/McAfee.
No, I downloaded avast! and couldn't turn it off, MEANING STOPPING IT FROM RUNNING PERIOD. Not disabling the service. Also, I was not allowed to uninstall without "IF YOU UNINSTALL YOUR GONNA GET A FUCKING VIRUS YOU FUCKING MORON!" Then it won't let me uninstall. So I have to go into safemode, and get rid of it. Thing was almost annoying as a virus.
