Hi, I'm planning on building a new PC, I just bought a new graphics card but I think the rest of my PC is kinda bottlenecking it and I'm suffering from low performance. This is what I have right now:
ASUS P5N-E SLI (motherboard)
Intel Q6600 2.4ghz
2GB RAM
ATI HD6870 (this one's new)
Corsair 550 watt
So I'm planning to buy a new motherboard, CPU and some RAM. First off, do you guys think it's worth it? Will I notice any difference in performance? This is what I'm planning to upgrade to:
Gigabye GA-A75-UD4H motherboard
AMD A8 3850 2.9ghz Llano
Corsair XMS3 2x2GB
And my second question, will my Corsair 550Watt suffice for this rig?

Get a 650w just to be on the safe side, especially if you want any extra fans or lights.
You won't really notice a jump. A8-3850 preforms like an Athlon II 645, and that only just beats the Q6600 in games/applications.
Right now, it won't really be worth it. Your Q6600 shouldn't bottleneck a 6870 that bad (only in CPU heavy games). Just overclock it (G0 revision with a good cooler should be able to hit 3.2-3.8GHz). Drop another 2GB of RAM in there and then just save up for something like Sandy Bridge or Bulldozer.

550w will be fine unless you want to crossfire.
One of the other reasons I want to rebuild my pc is because my motherboard is really acting up lately. When I want to boot it, I have to reboot it like 5 times until it boots up. And it also doesn't seem to support most of the RAM I've bought, I had to give away 2x4GB sticks to my brother because they just didn't seem to work on my pc. BTW, you said I should save up for a Sandy but I've read on the internet that the Llano performs better than the Sandy i3 and i5 from Intel (it's also a Sandy type chip that comes with a CPU and GPU).
Llano doesn't beat Sandy Bridge in processing power. Llano beats Sandy Bridge with it's onboard GPU in gaming, but you have a dedicated GPU so that's irrelevant.
