Norway is not in the EU but enacts most EU legislation in order to maintain access to the single market. "Europe without Britain I don't think is as strong a Europe as with Britain inside," Mr Brende told BBC Radio 4's Today programme. The UK will hold an in/out referendum on EU membership by the end of 2017. UK Prime Minister David Cameron has launched a diplomatic campaign to garner support from other EU leaders for his EU reform plans.

dude i know english isnt your first language but come on
It's clunky, but still good English in a spoken format. The BBC have just elected to quote him exactly because with a topic as sensitive as this, one misplaced word can totally change the implied (or at least the inferred) meaning.
dude i know english isnt your first language but come on
Everyone in Norway understands English, but the older generation never gets to practice speaking or writing it. So a lot of them are really fun listening to. Also, don't listen to us when its about politics, we belong to the US.. our government pees its pants if someone somewhere gets annoyed at Norway.

We can't exactly pack up and start maintaining an economy the size of our current one without trading with Europe so what's the point in leaving we just lose the ability to control the trade laws that'll still affect how we trade with Europe.
