These people must have never thought of strapping a solar battery pack to their arm

or back... or hat. or really your whole body.

Someone figure out how to make a solar body suit and kickstart it.
solar powered backpacks are great, there are even some that come with a battery you can plug into a usb slot.
of course this won't generate enough energy to charge your phone - if we'd "waste" so much kinetic energy doing everyday things that we could charge our phones with it we'd be long dead
charging our phones with the heat loss that naturally occurs in our bodies would be much more effective... if only we had a method to convert it into electric energy :/
A great example of the "if it's too good to be true" adage. The best you'll get is solar-powered backpacks, which aren't perfect, but are pretty neat. You can also get a powerbank which have a huuge capacity.
Well if its supposed to generate energy from your movement it means its going to drain energy from you, making it harder to run/walk.
-When you run you use around 1000Watts (link)
-A normal Samsung phone chargers is rated at 10 watts. So it takes only 1 percent of the power. And a charger like this can be rated at 2 watts and still work.
So that cant be it.
Im guessing they have problems with converting the movement energy to electrical energy then. You probably would need quit a bit of copper coils and a weighty rotor (or heavy lineaire moving magnet). To prevent it from stalling due to its own induction currents. This results in a heavy package.

This is a way better idea, I usually strap one to the top of my pack when hiking.
