Hello All and Welcome to The Facepunch "Pimp My PC" Thread, Junkyard Warrior Edition.

Basically in this thread I challenge you fellow pc builders and facepunchers, to find your old machine or build a machine out of parts lying around the house, restore it to working order, then pimp the hell outa it!

You may use whatever means to pimp your old machine but keep in kind its just for fun :) maybe you can sell it? or give away its your choice. You can do anything you want to it!

I will be leading the way with my build, built from the remains of the second pc I owned, back in its day it was top of the line!

Basic Specs:
1.6Ghz Intel Processor
256mb ATI 9550 Graphics
2x 512mb SDRAM
20gb hardrive (not the original, another I had lying around)
300W PSU
Diamond Data 40x CD Drive (used to have a dvd drive dont know where that is now)
Unknown Generic Case.
Impromptu Junk Network Card hacked apart and forced to fit by me and my friends because I forgot to budget for one haha I was young.

This old gem could run Fear and Half-Life 2 and Counter-Stike Source, it was my gaming pc and me and my friends used to Lan and marvel at the amazing graphical advancedments of the time, believing that gaming couldnt possibly get more realistic or more immersive.

Plans:
Case:
Going to be spray painted Yellow and Black with some black racing stripesand a ZeRo insigna on the side. Yellow LEDS will also accompany the case in which I may but a clear platic window in the side.

Internals:
Giving a clean and tiding up with some nice cable managing cable ties :P

Software:
Windows 7, haha should be interesting to see how she handles it. Latest Drivers and maybe play some Half-Life 2 on it.

Future:
Might sell her, or keep her as a momento, my friend turned one of his old pcs into a beer keg, ill get a pic for you guys :P

Anyway Facepunch, please do start your own projects, it would be nice to see some other junkyard builds come out of this :P not just my own.

ahh, the old days where P4 was king, Motherboards were mostly brown and parallel ports still existed.

Argh, I've just finished pimping an old PC I had from around 2005'ish, sprayed the old case black & white, added a new power button, fan holes and metal front cover to replace the crappy plastic one. Then used it to house my home server I use for music & films. It looks quite nice now, especially since the front is now checked like a chess board and I briaded the cables white to contrast with the black interior. I'll see if I can't get some pictures of it before and after, but I've only got a crappy camera.

Now:
2.6Ghz C2D (downclocked to 2Ghz because silence > speed for this pc)
HD 4650 1Gb(temporaryily using as my main PC so needed a moderate card)
2Gb 677Mhz Ram
80Gb Hdd & 320Gb Hdd

My band director has an old gateway machine with windows 98 that doesn't work sitting in a largely unused practice room. I've wanted to resurrect it for a long time now, but it feels weird to ask her if I can have it.

Nice, I would like to see it :D just took the pc apart and started cleaning up the parts and case, I will then prepare the case for painting then go buy some spraypaint.
