What options do I have with a cracked iPod touch screen?

Title says all. Here's pictures of the damage.

The digitizer works great. The only difference in normal use is that you can see a huge crack going down the center.
Apple wants $120 to fix. I don't have the skill to install my own screen and I can't find a cheap screen. Can anyone help me out here?
Do you have contents insurance?

What?
If you mean a warranty, yes, all iPods come with a one year warranty, mine has 73 days left. Apple still considers this physical damage (what else could it be) and wants to bill me $120 to fix.

No I mean contents insurance. It's a subset of home insurance and covers possessions up to a certain value which are temporarily removed from the property covered by the policy. A good thing to have.
Since I don't even know what it is, I assume not.
I meant options as in like should I buy a kit to repair it, get something to patch the glass together...
You can't patch glass together unless you want to melt it down. You'd have to buy a new pane of glass and install it which means removing the capacitive layer and others and putting them back on again. The fee apple wants is probably easier.
Hmm.
Like I said, it's my iPod though, and I don't have enough money. Parents don't want to (and aren't in a financial stance to) back me up.
I can probably get a cheap, shitty $20 screen with digitizer. It's cheaper.
I was just looking through digg and someone posted this http://arstechnica.com/gadgets/guides/2009/09/three-ways-to-save-some-cash-and-repair-or-upgrade-your-ipod.ars
Sell it on eBay and get yourself a new one

Hmm.
Well, I am taking electronics courses as I do plan to be an electronic engineer in the future, so I should at least try...
Replacing it is only 50$, you can have a 3rd Party do it for a little more. But for about 60$ you can get the tools, and the shipping of a new screen. Just google a good video on replacing the screen. It's easy if you take your time and are slow about it.

$50 from where? Apple said $120 over the phone.

That's a touch 1 gen, this is a 2 gen

Does it matter? the front is the same on both..

I'd like to be sure.
It would suck to spend $50 then find out it won't fit
I'll take it off your hands and give it a nice home.
I'm not prejudiced, I'll take her just as she is.

I want to fix the screen, not sell it. In case you didn't pick that up (not) reading the entire thread.
I wasn't asking you to sell it.
You can just give it to me.
I had to get an 80 gig ipod video headphone jack replaced, and I went through some online place that fixes ipods. I'm sure they have one for itouches, I'm just not sure on the price.
As far as the headphone jack, it was a lot cheaper through the generic site, I had my iPod back within 2 weeks, and it worked great, that is till someone stole it.

That's the site I used, and they have it listed as $90

Oh nevermind, that's self-install.
God damn, digitizers are cheap, how much can a piece of glass be...
I believe the screens on both Touch 2G's and 1G's are the same. The only difference may be the internals.
