STERLING HEIGHTS, Mich. (WXYZ) - This is Tyler McVeigh's way of helping his family following the sudden death of his big sister Kristen in mid-July.Bills have piled up so Tyler and his friends set up a lemonade stand outside Fillmore Elementary School on Irving in Sterling Heights.
Monday was the first day of business.
Meantime there is a police investigation underway into Kristen's death. Police tell Action News they are now waiting on toxicology reports. Kristen went out with some friends, came home, and her family found her dead just a few hours later, according to Cheryl McVeigh, Kristen and Tyler's mother.
Kristen was a 16-year-old student at Cousino High School in Warren.
"She was just like a very nice person, " Tyler says. "The best sister you could ever have.".
If you would like to visit the lemonade stand, it will be open weekdays between 9 and 5.
Shows some people don't have a heart.
A lot of my friends go to Cousino High school.. and my girlfriend lives in Sterling Heights. Damn. I think I saw this stand they're talking about when I went to pick her up.

Bureaucracy :suicide:
The lemonade probably taste like shit.

I think that there can be several health problems, I would prefer to buy from a regulated lemonade stand then from one ran by a 10 year old. Now, if it weren't food I would buy something, heck I would even give them some money just for the cause, but not against mysterious lemonade.
Or you know it could be normal lemonade that you can drink without a problem.

It's fucking lemonade. Not some prescription medication with possible horrendous side effects.
I almost never actually drink the lemonade.
It's more of a gesture to the kid than anything.
Don't worry guys, I've already alerted the Alabama police, they're on their way.

I live in Sterling Hts., it's actually very nice here. You know how Eminem talks about 8 mile and the ghetto and stuff? I live on 21 mile. Definitely not the ghetto. I actually might go to the stand today. I'll take a picture for you guys.

I imagined that with puppets as I read it.
How cuh-luhful.
Such a noble cause.
Too bad the lemonade is shit, and this buisness plan doesn't seem to have a long term purpose.

FYI you can give someone money without expecting something in return.
"Hey kid, I don't need any lemonade but he's some money to help with your cause".
I live in Dearborn, not too far from there. I might go buy some lemonade from that little go-getter.
All in all, it's good to see that there's still good people in this area. Most kids around here wouldn't give 2 shits if a sibling died.

Are you telling me you would buy anything off the street? Well suit yourself, but the law is the law, and it hasn't been put in place to hinder kids from helping, contrary to what Facepunch seems to believe.

Way to read what I said!

If you don't wanna buy the kids lemonade then don't buy his fucking lemonade. The government isn't going to regulate every god damn Kool Aid and Lemonade stand because you feel the kid might be spiking it with MDMA. Give the kid a dollar, show him a big old smile, and get your ass out of there.
Seriously, is society so screwed up that kids can't have a regular childhood and have a lemonade stand without people being suspicious?
Wow this ruined my day
Fucking kids and their unregulated lemonade going on a mission to get out there and poison fucking EVERYONE

You have your standards the wrong way around. Even try to imagine what will happen if that kid did not take care in producing the lemonade and a contagion slipped into it? (e.g. a strain of the recent E.Coli.)
Try to imagine what will happen if any given McDonalds employee did the same thing. Just because something is "regulated" does not make it any safer.
A lot of facepunchers seem to live around there, more than I imagined.
I might drop by, though there may be a crowd with the attention it's getting :v:
