Mysterious submarine spotted in Swedish waters, Swedish Navy is in full alert
Foreign submarine activity is suspected west of the port of Gothenburg, writes the Armed Forces on their website.
Data on the observation, which should have been done by a credible informant, currently under investigation by the Navy now has more ships in the area.
- The area is also heavily trafficked, so it is important that we go out and provide information on what we do, say marine surveyor Jan Törnqvist in the press release.

I don't like the look of this, there is increased activity in Sweden regarding unknown submarines.
Not only this, at the time of this post there is increased military activity between Gothenburg and Denmark.

Go to Gothenburg on that link and go a bit outside of Gothenburg, between Denmark and Sweden and select the UBERHERRN, it's a German military ship and then press show track. It's track is very mysterious.
I hope the Russkies don't invade us.
God damn it Beatles, stay away from Sweden !
They are probably shadowing your vessels to train crewmen.
Sweden is probably a good target of such activities because you are not likely to take any sort of action even if you do identify the vessels as being Russian/Chinese/whatever.
American subs do the same thing. Often to just about any ship that enters their patrol zone.
It isn't a hostile action, it is just them dicking around to train.
Valve-sponsored international Episode 3 ARG.
Soon it'll move into the arctic and start broadcasting scrambled radio messages :tinfoil:
Yeah, the Ueberherrn is a mine hunter as well. Apparently it uses underwater drones and sonar to identify stuff underwater. Like submarines.
Reminds me of WWII. Ready for action.
Any war that involves Sweden, I will help my [grandparent's] Homeland!
No! Don't attack Sweden! We need them for our shoddily-made but affordable furniture!
It's the fucking Russians again, but what are they going to do? Crash another submarine in swedish water?

The difference is that the submarine is inside the harbour, it isn't shadowing any ships. In fact, there was no naval ships in Gothenburg when the sub was discovered.
Didn't this also happen some time ago?

It is the same principle. Subs spend huge amounts of their time training.
Those fuckers better not attack Sweden. They make goddamn tasteful meatballs
So what are the chances this is something srs?
So what are the chances this is something srs?
Rather low. Like Gunfox said, it probably just is a submarine doing a training mission or whatever.
So what are the chances this is something srs?
Pretty much zero.
Russia gains nothing from hostilities with Sweden.
Nobody gains anything from hostilities with Sweden.
This has happened ages ago

More then 50%. A civilian sonar vessel called "ICEBEAM" was off Gothenborgs coast when it picked up something moving under the water, the sonar signature was a something in the shape of a submarine. Keep in mind these civilian sonar vessels have high sensitivity sonar sensors. So if something is picked up it is not bogus.

Oh shit sorry, I thought you meant if it was something to do with war or something.

Not to mention some of the best melodeath out there. (hell, it originated in Gothenburg)
Most likely just a sub training, though not very well if they were detected. :v:
haha what navy

Wasn't the last time that Russia went to war with Sweden the Swedes had to give Russia Finland?
With that map I found a Polish navy boat near by doing the same kind of motions (identified from the track) as the Ueberherrn. Odd.
It's the fucking Russians again, but what are they going to do? Crash another submarine in swedish water?
get drunk, then crash it into a beach
silly ruskies

A certain case of too much vodka for the Капитан.
Go away submarine

NATO training exercise? Although Sweden isn't part of NATO.
They are secretly planning an enthronement anniversary party for your king!
The Sub would pop up on the 19th and shoot confetti everywhere and sing a song, but noooooo, you just had to go and scare them off.
Now what are they going to do? They vested a lot of time and effort into that submarine. Now they are going to have to send the party tanks over the mountains.

Meet the Visby class corvettes.
The only active, fully stealth ship in the world.
Problem?
