Got excited for a sec there because I thought we might finally be getting Fable II on PC Then I saw the article and got sad
when the hell is fable anniversary coming out?
when the hell is fable anniversary coming out?
I have absolutely no idea. [editline]18th January 2014[/editline] Not a damned clue
Uhh, is that picture really stretched out and ugly for anyone else?
But Fable 2 and (especially) 3 are awful.
Same day Fable Anniversary comes out, nice. Have it preordered and everything.
But Fable 2 and (especially) 3 are awful.
I liked 2 :(
2 was okay, but 3 at it's best was literally meh
I'd rather just buy Fable Anniversary. The Third game is just terrible, i couldn't bring myself to finish it. The second is so and so, a step back from what i liked from the first one. Looking forward to replaying Fable one come February.
The third one isn't even that bad. It's that the first one set the bar really high and it just wasn't as good. Two was good, and had a lot of content.
I loved the first game and then borrowed the 2nd one for the 360 but couldn't stand it since the game aimed for you automatically when you shot a gun and there was a big glowing trail for you to follow. I mean I'm not saying it should be Dark Souls difficult but come on, I have more than a handful of brain cells.
Fable 3 was terrible, it was a stripped down version of Fable 2, there was no penalty for death, they made John Cleese unfunny, you could only get 20 of the 50 unique weapons without trading them online, there were no non-unique weapons, the towns were terrible and they didn't include any areas from Fable 2 except for Bowerstone and Bower Lake. The story had some good things but everything felt like it was half hearted and none of the quests had the impact they should have. Then there were the hero weapons, all that hype built up about evolving weapons which grow in power as you use them, instead they just got random effects when you increased your weapon skills and their models were just parts of the unique weapons franenstiened together. I can understand people not liking Fable 2 because it was different to Falbe TLC, but Fable 3 is just a bad game. And you had to fucking pay real money to get black dye.
I agree that the third game was not very good compared to the first but I honestly don't think it was really as bad as everyone makes it out to be. It was different yes, but not horrible.

It had fewer areas, the areas were smaller, fewer quests, the 'conversation' system was butchered, the story was terrible, no generic weapons so if you wanted a certain type of weapon you had to get lucky with what Unique Weapons the game decided to spawn for your save, it also reused a lot of quests from Fable 2. It wasn't a terrible game, it was just a bad game which was completely overshadowed by the game that it preceded.
I loved fable tlc. Fable 2 was good. Fable 3 was terrible. everything about it was terrible.
The only good thing that comes to mind from the outset about Fable 3 is the improved co-op. Apart from that, it was worse than Fable 2 in almost every way I can think.
But Fable 2 and (especially) 3 are awful.
I thought Fable 3 was stellar, personally! Not as good as the first, but leagues better than the second (which also wasn't bad; it just wasn't as good).
I found 3 to be alright for the first playthrough, but nothing brought me back at all. I will say that some of the character's had better writing than most Fable characters, but the overall writing was kind of shit. Especially when [sp]OH MAN EVIL ANCIENTS WHO WOULD HAVE SEEN THIS COMING[/sp]
I thought that was wicked sweet. :[ [editline]18th January 2014[/editline] Of course, my favorite part of the game was forcing people to smell my farts after I became King. They had to do it. Because I was the King. And I demanded it.
Fable 3 is such a fucking boring game, the only time ive ever been that unentertained was when i was TRYING to finish Modern Warfare 3. [sp]The sad thing is, ive finished it THREE TIMESSS![/sp]
for me the only good Fable game was The Lost Chapters and it's downhill at an extreme rate since
But Fable 2 and (especially) 3 are awful.
2 was a damn fine game. But yeah 3 was trash.
2 was a damn fine game. But yeah 3 was trash.
There were only a few problems that I had with 2. Mostly that there were bugs everywhere and you could literally just fall through the floor a lot of times or get stuck and not be able to move. The co-op was awful, and I also didn't like how far into the future it was from the original Fable. 500 years is a bit much imo.
Even if a lot of aspects of Fable 3 were good (which they weren't), just how boringly easy it was would still make me really dislike the game.

Such an overrated game series, even the first one wasn't that special. The sequels are pretty much garbage. I don't know why anyone would buy this edition.
I still don't understand why Lionhead had to add a dog into the mix.
Fable III has a lot of issues but the one that always stands out for me is the moral choices. For the first time in the series you're punished for being the good guy and rewarded for being the bad guy. Being evil saves more lives in the impending invasion than being good, like when [sp]instead of renovating an orphanage for 50,000 gold you can convert it into a brothel and gain 1,250,000 gold. This conveniently means you're saving 1,250,000 lives, but think of those poor orphans you monster![/sp] If the player wants to be "good" and raise money they have to manage and individually repair their property empire and play crappy mini-games or leave the game on while they're not playing. There's no fun way to be good and save everyone. In a series about freedom of choice the moral system in Fable III abysmal.
