I was thinking about upgrading my hardware and I'm not sure what needs improvement. (Maybe the CPU/More ram?)

youre fine
An extra 2 gb of ram would not hurt at all. 4 gb total is a good upgrade when running games on modern OS.
Yeah an extra 2GB of ram is all you need.
[editline]04:34PM[/editline]
oh 32-bit vista. Get an extra gig.
How much would the 2 gigs benefit me?
Not much. But it's a cheap upgrade, so no harm done. Oh and do get 2GB as the saving you'd make by getting 1GB is next to nothing.
Does Win7 support 4gb of ram on 32bit?
does win7 support 4gb of ram on 32bit?
3.0.
Yes.
And so does Vista. But the problem your going to run into is that in can only do a total of 4gb. So if you put 4gb of ram in your comp it will only show 3 due to your 1gb GPU.
Used "Yes" as a temporarily answer till I searched around :colbert:

Search before you post.
So if you have a 512MB video card, you can use up to 3.5GB of RAM because 512MB is half a gig, and since system memory gets last address priority, the VRAM (video ram on the graphics card) gets addresses first. If you have a 1GB graphics card, you can use up to 3GB.
uh?
OP just get 64 bit windows 7 when it comes out.
uh?
he asked if windows 7 will support 4GB RAM, not how much RAM he'll be able to use with that car
and I gave a definite answer, where the hell did "3.5 at most" come from? it's a 1GB card, it doesn't vary depending on how it feels today

I was talking about how much Windows 7 can support, so I said 3GB Ram, and just gave a little fun fact about how the maximum is 3.5.
But no one likes my fun fact so now I'm all sad. :frown:
Fun Fact: RJ102 is sad
That is true.

Did you know that there are 256MB GPUs, and *gasp* even 128MB GPUs?
It's too late fun facts don't make me happy anymore.
Seriously, is this the "Disagree with everything I post" thread
