You get them all the time. A Nigerian Prince needs to invest his gold in an American citizen so he can move, or a lonely woman needs a small loan of 300 euros to get out of "Smolia". What should you do? Delete the messages? NO! Play with the spammers! For example:
Hello "Insert Email name here"! I, Eskabar Oneil' am the prince of Chad. Sadly, my father, the king, passed away yesterday. The local rebels will soon raid our palace and take all our money. I have since retreated to Nigeria, but I need a European's help. The bank will only let me transfer our money to someone in Europe, so I beg of you to help. If you supply me with your information, I will transfer all the money into it. Then if you could buy me a plane ticket, I will fly out to Europe to live nearby. Please respond soon!
So right off the bat you can tell its fake. Why delete it? When I'm stuck in the office all day, I like to play with them. Ive been able to get them to buy me plane tickets, rent me hotel rooms, and even send me pictures of themselves with a sign saying "I love Facepunch!". It takes patience, but is a very fun time waster. If all they are doing is stealing money from innocent people, why not fight back? So guys, what is your opinion on the matter, and how do you fight it?

The American Dialect Society has traced the term "419 fraud" back to 1992.

Give us stories/pics
Right now i'm in the middle of one.
Dear _____ I received your email with thanks; I have noted the content and it's well understood, I want to thank you that you have been my source of joy lately since I read your mail although we did not know before, but as I saw your email my inner spirit told me that you are the right person to approach, as I indicated in my first email my name is Miss. Meina Akale, 19 years old girl from Ivory Coast, I finished my secondary school last year and was about to gain an admit into the university before my father died. After my fathers death as a girl, my late father’s people sent me to the village to stay with my grandmother who died this year, but after my grandmother’s death last four months I came back to the city to forward my education I found out that my late father’s people has divided all his properties and the money that he left in the bank here non of them even care about me or my school, all they told me is to look for a husband and get marry that they are not going to train me in education again. I went to my late fathers pastor and told him about all the properties that was taken away from me by my late fathers people and the money that my let father deposited for me in the bank, he told me that he could have helped me but my late fathers people will be against him, then he told me not to let them know about the money that my late father deposited for me, and he advised me not to make problem with anyone because God is in control of all things, Then he told me to follow my fathers instructions to look for a trustworthy foreigner to help me retrieve and invest the money in his/her country of my choice, so that I will go there and forward my education that's why I contacted you, Please I would appreciate you give me your assurance that you will not betray me and you will take good care of me when I come to your country and my fund been transferred to your care. As soon as I receive an assurance message from you, I will give you the bank contact and what the bank said on how they will help me transfer the money to the country of my choice. Please I wait for your urgent reply! May God bless you and your family! Yours sincerely. Miss. Maine Akale.
So I said
Hello! I am interested in helping you. I know there is a lot of spam going around, so I would like to know you. What are your hobbies? Here in America we play Blurgsball. Do you like blurgsball? My favorite player is ol' Abe lincoln.
Promptly
I love blurgsball, but in our country, we don't play it. I do like abe. I still need your bank info though. Miss. Maine Akale
Im still trying to get another facepunch photo so I replied back:
I would love to help! There are alot of spammers though, and you still sound fishy. If possible, could you please hold up a sign that says " I love facepuch!" and take a photo. It is just a custom in France, where I come from. Thanks. and good luck!
Still waiting on a response from that.
Some guy had a massive in-depth conversation with one of these scammers about all sorts of philosophical topics. He then sent him goatse
Right now i'm in the middle of one. So I said Promptly Im still trying to get another facepunch photo so I replied back: Still waiting on a response from that.
Damnit, you misspelled Facepunch Looks like it may work. I wish I could somehow leak my 3rd email to only nigerian scammers, and just do stuff to them all day.
Get some more pics and stuff in the OP, OP.
You said you already were able to get them to hold up an "I love facepunch" sign. You liar.
Provide pics bro
You said you already were able to get them to hold up an "I love facepunch" sign. You liar.
I said I have, and I will again.
I fear that their mission is to murder innocent Americans if they get them over to their country
Can't wait to see how this turns out.
You said you already were able to get them to hold up an "I love facepunch" sign. You liar.
You mean "I love facepuch", right?
[img_thumb]http://i51.tinypic.com/152hkdi.png[/img_thumb]
Wow, even the fucking fish are at it
Get them to write a sign that says "I liek buttsechs" and make them hold a goofy grin. Tell them the grin is a way of greeting and the sign is a childish phrase.
Get them to write a sign that says "I liek buttsechs" and make them hold a goofy grin. Tell them the grin is a way of greeting and the sign is a childish phrase.
haha, no.
I've done it once. Was fun and lasted pretty long, until the scammer realized I really wasn't going to buy his gold and stopped mailing me back :saddowns:
Is there a way I can increase the chances of getting emailed by these people. Maybe a certain email client or a website I can submit it to?
okay
