Hello, I want strip lighting. Can someone point me to a website where I can get some strips of LEDs or some other energy efficient, really long life object that I can put around the top of my walls? I also would like a dimmer. This is in america, so it would probably need to be 110 volt, though i have no doubt that that could be converted. This is a simple question, but I have been looking for this for some time now. I looked at these guys bendy strip thing, but I couldn't find a price, and i bet it would be very expensive. Thanks in advance!
How about computer case lighting? - Hook them up to any 12V supply and there you go, cheap as chips coloured strip lighting. Not easily dimmable though if it isn't LED. Just so you know, the bendy strip light you posted is a glass tube that has been pre bent for custom purposes, you would have to get the glass bent to your proportions, and also, it's an expensive solution. Flexible cathode tubes do not exist. [editline]16th December 2010[/editline] Also http://www.dealextreme.com has loads of this kind of stuff, search for led strip or led bar. If its 12V you can run it off a pc power supply or any other 12v adapter.
"super-bright" white LEDs and acrylic dowels with a sanded finish make for good Fluorescent light imitations. :P
EL wire?
