put your life savings in now go go go
Nah, it's gonna keep dropping, even now , there are still people panic selling
Lol, there's a guy on the subreddit insinuating this is all the fault of the "big banks" trying to destroy a currency they can't control.
I hate myself a bit for feeling very smug about this
Lol, there's a guy on the subreddit insinuating this is all the fault of the "big banks" trying to destroy a currency they can't control.
This is an interesting idea, but it's unlikely they have anything approaching that level of ability to manipulate the bitcoin markets. However they certainly have some ability with that much finance and expert personnel, and its likely some of them are having some fun manipulating the bitcoin market in minor ways that are ordinarily illegal in "normal" markets. All that is a long shot from trying to "destroy" it to remove competition though. I think if the currency's structure is so weak that a bank can just "destroy" it then it probably wasn't ready to exist to begin with.
My schadenfreude is through the roof If I were a bit more petty and a lot less lazy I'd make a compilation of all the people I've seen trying to convince others that buying bitcoin a month ago was a guaranteed ticket to becoming a millionaire
Lol, there's a guy on the subreddit insinuating this is all the fault of the "big banks" trying to destroy a currency they can't control.
The bitcoin subreddit is a goldmine of delusion https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/7vdr1p/people_should_not_be_afraid_of_their_governments/
Yeah some people can be annoying so I'm going to denounce an entire industry with a promising future.
The promising future for crypto currencies being used for their original purpose can only become a reality when/if it manages to shed the major part of its community that's solely interested in speculation, cause right now it's popularity comes from being used as a stock market by armchair economists and greedy nerds, which is ironically working against its original intended purpose. The potential of the technology doesn't change based on it's market value, yet the vast majority of posts talking about crypto is investment "advice" or conspiracy theories explaining why their fool-proof get-rich-quick scheme isn't going according to plan.
Lol, there's a guy on the subreddit insinuating this is all the fault of the "big banks" trying to destroy a currency they can't control.
This is technically sorta true. The (world-)central currency exchange bank just announced it will seek legislation against cryptocurrencies because they may destabilise the economy (among a few other reasons).
[t]https://i.imgur.com/uQBSWRW.jpg[/t] LMAO
Hate to burst your bubble, but that image is from an ethereum mining facebook group.
I doubt the crypto market is gonna stay low and you'll probably all be moaning again in a few months if and when it's back up. Of course you could always buy into a proof of stake project with a cool idea if it's mining that pisses you off, it seems objecting to all of crypto out of principle is just an uneducated and salty position.
Not to worry folks, when they green light institutional investing those prices will shoot back up.
Hate to burst your bubble, but that image is from an ethereum mining facebook group.
"#bitcoincouple" 🤔
"#bitcoincouple" 🤔
btc isnt mined with GPUs my dude
Hate to burst your bubble, but that image is from an ethereum mining facebook group.
ethereum took a bit of a fall too
btc isnt mined with GPUs my dude
It could be, if you like throwing money away in the form of your electric bill.
hint: the people that buy 50 1080tis for mining arent smart
tbh the post reeks of "best buy employee with a fresh stock shipment in the breakroom" or "game company IT guy with a stack of empty boxes from employee computer parts"
Hate to burst your bubble, but that image is from an ethereum mining facebook group.
Does it really matter? Etherum along with other cryptos fell along. Etherum was 1300$, today it was 550$ :v:
tbh the post reeks of "best buy employee with a fresh stock shipment in the breakroom" or "game company IT guy with a stack of empty boxes from employee computer parts"
Don't game companies typically go for Quadros anyway? Still, I kinda wish I had one of them.
I was under the impression that the prices that it reached were actually hurting it, making transaction fees extremely high and hence the currency expensive to use for people with less BTC. Can anyone who's into Bitcoin confirm?
cheap 1080ti here i come
Fucking when? Most cards here are either sold out or on backorder with a jacked up price. I ordered a 1070 over a month ago for $520 CAD, the site told me the 4-5 week ETA for shipments is "suspended indefinitely" and "may not even come in at all". The same card is now selling for $700+ CAD in the few stores that have it left on the shelf. I picked a wrong time to build a new PC. Got all the parts set up except for the GPU. I can't even find a 1060 for under $500 CAD.
I hate myself a bit for feeling very smug about this
I don't.
This isn't going to discourage miners. If anything, now they're getting even more BTC which will be worth more if it bounces back up to previous levels. This just scares away the people who know nothing about it.
