Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach has asked every state in the nation to provide President Donald Trump’s new voter commission with the names, birthdates and Social Security information for that state’s voters going back to 2006.
Kobach, a former chairman of the Kansas Republican Party and a candidate for Kansas governor in 2018, serves as vice chairman of Trump’s Presidential Advisory Commission on Election Integrity.
In a June 28 letter, Kobach asked the Connecticut secretary of state’s office to provide it with all publicly available voter roll data, including the full names of all registered voters along with their addresses, dates of birth, the last four digits of their Social Security numbers, voting history and other personal information.
Connecticut Secretary of State's response:

Worth nothing however that the letter from Kris Kobach only requested this information 'if publicly available under the laws of your state'.
Also worth nothing that Kobach (Wikipedia article), the VP of the Commission, while serving as SOS for Kansas has "implemented some of the strictest voter ID legislation in the nation and has fought to remove nearly 20,000 properly registered voters from the state's voter rolls"
Imprison all the Fake Voters who "voted" for Crooked Hillary and then #lockherup MAGA
In the same spirit of transparency, we will request that the Commission share any memos, meeting minutes or additional information as state officials have not been told precisely what the Commission is looking for.
:v:
California's Secretary of State has straight up told Kobach to fuck off

Glad I didn't vote, otherwise I'd have been guilty of FRAUD
What the fuck is going on in our country. Just... Jesus.
Surely they could just ask that company the GOP hired to track voter habits.
Or every nation and their dog that saw what was on the publically-accessible database
Jesus fucking Christ, why are they still harping on about this? They won the damn election. They're in power, there's no fucking reason for any of this. It's a waste of time and resources.
Stop whining and run the damn country, Donny.

It's a mission to fuck up the 2020 elections by making voting into a complicated song and dance.

Winning the electoral vote is the only thing he's done right so far so he has to remind everyone about it.
If trump keeps saying its rigged despite winning, I hope someone brings that little point up in court lmao

I hope every single fucking state follows.
Part of me hopes that this happens, and it turns out there was massive voter fraud for ballots cast for Trump. Imagine the Tweet-storm when he finds out that not only did he lose the popular vote, but he lost it even when people committed voter fraud to help him win.
hmm... seems pretty useful to have a compiled list of every voter in the entire country. It would be quite useful for someone who's seemingly been running for re-election since the day he was inaugurated

It would also be useful for a party attempting to gerrymander the shit out of every district they have power over as well as strategically pass voter ID laws

If I remember correctly the first attempted voter fraud this election was a woman voting for Trump twice.
IIRC states are generally pretty loathe to allow the federal government to get involved in election processes, a fact which the Obama administration encountered when it was trying to warn states about Russian hacking in 2016. So this is unlikely to go very well

That's according to Wapo
Jeh Johnson, the homeland-security secretary, was responsible for finding out whether the government could quickly shore up the security of the nation’s archaic patchwork of voting systems. He floated the idea of designating state mechanisms “critical infrastructure,” a label that would have entitled states to receive priority in federal cybersecurity assistance, putting them on a par with U.S. defense contractors and financial networks.
On Aug. 15, Johnson arranged a conference call with dozens of state officials, hoping to enlist their support. He ran into a wall of resistance.
The reaction “ranged from neutral to negative,” Johnson said in congressional testimony Wednesday.
Brian Kemp, the Republican secretary of state of Georgia, used the call to denounce Johnson’s proposal as an assault on state rights. “I think it was a politically calculated move by the previous administration,” Kemp said in a recent interview, adding that he remains unconvinced that Russia waged a campaign to disrupt the 2016 race. “I don’t necessarily believe that,” he said.
Interesting. So Kobach was a birther. Why do I suspect that the voters he attempted to disenfranchise were largely people of color?
I'm sure this won't be misused at all.
No sir-ee...

Didn't one of his """Employees""" in the white house vote for him twice
What states are complying? I know NY, CA,CT, and KY aren't while CO is.
It is interesting to see moves to double down on Trump's claims of an illegitimate election in the face of all the claims against his campaign.
It really feels like an attempt at diversion from his own failings, and just a sort of grasping appeal to his own base. If there was any proof of widespread Democratic meddling or fraud, they would've had it out on parade by now.

IIRC they were registered in two states, but they didn't vote twice as far as I'm aware.
It's not going very well

27 states now!
I used to think my friends being apathetic and not voting was a bad thing. Then again, I didn't think voting would make you vulnerable to identity theft at the time either.

I should have expected the election to be electronically defrauded. Why did I vote?!

I have no idea how this just goes on.
