TED fellow Jinha Lee worked on the new technology together with Microsoft.
source: http://thedroidguy.com/2013/03/spacetop-3d-transparent-computer-unveiled-at-ted/
Kinky.
The future of pornography.
Because fuck using a mouse and keyboard.
Maybe this'll gain ground over shitty HP touchsmarts with their awful ergonomics
Quickly throwing away the porn window when mum walks into the room
The hand in the picture and you guys saying kinky and stuff about porn(I thought it too), i'm suprised no-ones shopped a penis in the hand yet... :v:
even touching the tits, how smart
Because fuck using a mouse and keyboard.
No, fuck using this. How are you supposed to do it with a mouse and kb?
So if I throw my Wiimote at my TV it gets lost forever in cyberspace?
But will you be able to ~feel~ it?
No, fuck using this. How are you supposed to do it with a mouse and kb?
Was kinda my point smurfster old chap.
This is some Tony Stark shit
you're all so pessimistic I think this is cool as fuck
I wanna use this to play Mike Tysons PunchOut.
I was working at this TED this year. I saw SO MANY FUCKING SMART PEOPLE. The conversations people were having was blowing my mind. And this is probably is one the most impressive technologies.
The future is coming!
You see right now people may say "but i prefer this and that" but in twenty years when this shit is the standard we're going to wonder how we ever did it before. That's the glory that is technology, shit changes drastically every few years. Love it.
So it's just an LCD with the reflector/back removed and a kinect?
you're all so pessimistic I think this is cool as fuck
it's "cool", but is it useful? is this anything more than a glorified toy for the rich?
it's "cool", but is it useful? is this anything more than a glorified toy for the rich?
Pretty sure that's what people said about smartphones and look where they are now.
Pretty sure that's what people said about smartphones and look where they are now.
But smart phones aren't nearly as much of a gimmick.
it's "cool", but is it useful? is this anything more than a glorified toy for the rich?
Every revolutionizing invention is always called a "toy for the rich" just like cars were, and smartphones and just about everything a regular person uses on a daily basis.
it's "cool", but is it useful? is this anything more than a glorified toy for the rich?
you are literally the worst
But smart phones aren't nearly as much of a gimmick.
A mouse was considered a gimmick but look where that turned out.
do you know how expensive computers were when they were first being developed. do you know how useful they were. everything has a beginning
finally i can bone my anime girlfriend
do you know how expensive computers were when they were first being developed.
incredibly expensive
do you know how useful they were. everything has a beginning
incredibly useful as well. early computers helped revolutionize cryptography and science.
Every revolutionizing invention is always called a "toy for the rich" just like cars were, and smartphones and just about everything a regular person uses on a daily basis.
cars and smartphones have obvious utility, even back in the day. "horses are smelly, require food and cleaning. if we could make a machine that does the same thing a horse does, then it makes travel much easier."
Pretty sure that's what people said about smartphones and look where they are now.
smartphones have obvious utility. they are able to increase the usefulness of your phone. do you guys know how fallacious this line of thinking is? "other things were expensive at some point so this invention that has no usefulness will obviously become useful!" i don't see how touching stuff inside your computer increases your ability to use it. in fact, it looks like it could greatly decrease usability.

You're gonna look back like those posts are in shame if it does turn out well
Who says it's absolutely going to be useful? You're gonna look back like those posts are in shame if it does turn out well
nah i will probably be pleasantly surprised because it is a sorta cool idea. it just seems like one of those ideas that has a small chance of taking off since it doesn't really improve your ability to use a computer much. [editline]2nd March 2013[/editline] i could see the technology being useful in another context though, so idk.
