Couldn't find a thread about it so here we go. Anyone miss it? Anyone liked it? EDIT I'm not a guy btw. And didn't expect guys to come in here rofl
Sailor moon is one of those shows I liked, but was to embarrassed to watch because I was a guy. Same thing with the powerpuff girls.
I remembered this show. I recall watching it but I don't know if I liked it or not. I can just faintly remember it.
I recall one scene when they are in space and a ship explodes and there's fucking debris everywhere and fuck shit up. Anyone know what that scene?
Eh... Look, I'm no stranger to girlish animes. I mean Hell, Rozen Maiden is one of my favorites, as is Lucky Star, but Sailor Moon never seemed more to me than a female animated version of the Power Rangers, other than the characters being EASIER to spot through the Clark Kent rule of maskless costume changes, and this one didn't even have any motherfucking robots to watch. The lead never struck me as more than a total brat, (though I'll say it's better she's a brat than a Mary-Sue) the villains were never interesting, and it was in that period where early animation in Japan had the double-whammy of animating on the fours, while not yet perfecting the actual artwork. Maybe it's just the bad quality you found early on in Youtube, but the flat-shaded colors and blurry backdrops made it even LESS interesting. Only worthwhile bits were those transformation sequences. I mean, Jesus...just how is a multi-colored lineart silhouette so appealing? And it only gets weirder when you remember Sailor and her friends are only supposed to be like, thirteen or something. I mean, bullshit! I don't care HOW short or tall you make them, those are adult figures! Ahem...Uh...so, did this series ever actually end? I know it's not in production anymore, but it had like, a bajillion seasons of increasingly convoluted baddies and increasingly stupid items that are somehow bound inside certain human bodies. I mean, did this ever reach some sort of conclusion? And what was the point of keeping this series on life support after Blondielocks and Prince Douchebag stopped being bastards to each other (for no reason) and finally decided each other was their one and only (for no reason other than some bullcrap about past lives and Moonbases with Moon-people who...apparently don't need oxygen to breathe or communicate aurally). I mean, I liked Dragonball Z, but even I think it ran two seasons too long...and then ran a non-canon post-series series that was utter shit and demolished just about everything the original built up...
I can remember watching it when I was a little sprog and my dad calling me a girl. Fucks sake.
Nostalgia.
This is a pretty thread.
Sailor moon is one of those shows I liked, but was to embarrassed to watch because I was a guy. Same thing with the powerpuff girls.
Only that Powerpuff Girls were funny and entertaining, whereas Sailor Moon was not.
as is Lucky Star
Isn't lucky star meant for guys? Anyway I liked it but was a little ashamed to watch it. Funny enough I'm re watching it right now. The intro is kickass!
It's funny i got gaybows when im prolly the only female in this thread :P find me a Bi bow
I recall one scene when they are in space and a ship explodes and there's fucking debris everywhere and fuck shit up. My knowledge of this subject extends to various internet memes (nigga moon, SBAllen/Sailor Bacon :v: ) and parts of that terrible abridged series. First episode (of the abridged series) was fairly funny; but - and I suppose this is to the credit of the source material - most of the time they don't even have to make any jokes, (even obvious ones wtf,) and simply coast on how hilariously bad the actual show is. I mean FFS, they literally pull convenient shit out of their asses. Li-te-ral-ly. No offense meant to actual fans. [editline]11:35PM[/editline]

God damn. Dat music. Why must I be such a helpless sucker for that sort of bell-ish piano sound? :saddowns:
I will say without shame that I watched some of this show when I was a kid. I mean, it is kind of a girly show... But at the same time it seems like it's aimed somewhat at the boys, being about a bunch of girls in short skirts and whatnot. But I guess as far as anime is concerned, this show was considered to be not the least bit sexualized. It wasn't until years later that I realized it's kind of a girls' show. Also it wasn't until years later that I realized how shitty most of the show was. Like half of an episode is dedicated to showing the characters in their long, elaborate clothing transformation scenes, and the other half is dedicated to showing their long, elaborate attack preparations which are extremely impractical. Why did nobody ever attack them during the 5 minutes they spend getting ready to hit someone? Also, whenever they faced off against the big intimidating villain of the current season, it was hella anti-climactic. Sailor Moon goes to stand in front of the final boss, they each hold a ball of energy/lightning/fire/whatever in front of each other for about 10 minutes, the final boss's ball gets closer to Sailor Moon, then hers grows larger and overtakes the final boss. The end.
I couldn't remember watching this show, but I'm too embarrassed to watch it and it make me feel like a anime nerd.
I watched this only for the sexy women. And the mental undressing of them.
I used to watch the show, took me a while to realize, "What the fuck is going on in this show?"
Isn't lucky star meant for guys?
Yes. Nobody with any sort of taste would watch it for the humor, and it's no secret that the show is very popular among hardcore weeaboos and closet pedophiles, which in this case would both primarily consist of males. I never watched Sailor Moon but I know a few people who did. It's strange how little people talk about it compared to so many shows that never aired in western countries. Usually I tend to find a lot of information about things I've never watched, both mainstream and obscure, and I don't even need to look for it. But I literally know nothing about this.
I rewatched a few episodes recently while my sister had it on tv. The series really is silly so it gave me a few laughs. The incompetance of both the villians and the heroes is laughable and so is the evil organisation's quest for energy by sapping the life force of humans.

That's why I made the thread to see who remembered it and stuff and who did watch it. More guys than I thought rofl
I'm not a guy btw. And didn't expect guys to come in here rofl
Good save.
Even if you really are a girl, chances are the male:female population ratio around here is everyone:you
one of the shows i watched as a kid that i had no fucking clue what it was about but have nostalgia about it.
I remember just watching the credits/outro after my sister watched the show because i liked the song, dont remember much about the show though.

Looks the same as the English version to me. Also, watching this video... I can't believe I watched this shit as a kid. At least I can take solace in the fact that I only recognize the first 3-4 of these
Sailor moon is one of those shows I liked, but was to embarrassed to watch because I was a guy. Same thing with the powerpuff girls.
I'm not ashamed to watch the powerpuff girls. :smug: I use to always watch anything by released by Hanna-Barbera.
