• Screen went black - Now Computer won't turn on?

A few minutes ago I was playing Borderlands and suddenly my monitor just went black. I could still hear Borderlands in the background for about 30 seconds, then I heard a Windows sound (one I didn't recognize) and then it went quiet. I waited about twenty more seconds for something to happen but nothing did. So I did a hard shutdown and then restarted. After I restarted it showed my BIOS screen for a few seconds then went black. Then my computer went into sleep mode (I have it set to use a different light color so I knew it was sleeping) and didn't do anything for another minute. After that it "wakes up" again and shows normal lights. Then it stays like that unless I turn it off with another hard shutdown. I know this can't be a problem with my monitor because my speakers would play windows sounds, right? It did that a while ago when my monitor quit (and since then I got a new one). The lights on my monitor are on and if I press the menu button all the other lights come on. But the menu doesn't show on my screen. Specs: OS= Windows 7 64bit sp1 CPU= Intel i7 processor RAM= 6gb DDrsomething Mobo= Aurora BIOS a11 GPU= Nvidia GTX 680 (x1) HDD= no idea Audio= Realtek something P.S. typing on an iPhone is hard. There needs to be a Facepunch app or something.
Any beeps? From what I can gather, these are the beep codes for that BIOS: 1: Possible motherboard failure - BIOS ROM checksum failure 2: No RAM detected 3: Possible motherboard failure - chipset error 4: RAM read/write failure 5: Real Time Clock failure 6: Video card failure 7: Processor failure Other than that, my first guess would be the video card. Remove it and try onboard video if you have it.
Turns out it WAS the monitor. No worries, though. I love spending $200 on something that shouldn't need replacing.
