Note to the mods, just in case; I made this thread here as it's about a book more than a band. A Vulgar Display Of Power; Courage And Carnage At The Alrosa Villa is a book, written by Chris Armold. It documents the murder of Pantera and Damageplan guitarist, and heavy metal god "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott, along with fan Nathan Bray, roadie Erin Halk and band security member Jeffrey "Mayhem" Thompson, by mentally deranged ex-marine Nathan Gale. A short history of each murder victim is given within this book, from their early years to their later ones, their hobbies and habits, what they loved from food to music, as well as a history of the shooter, Nathan Gale. The main focus of the book is to reveal the truth about what happened on the fateful night that these men were murdered. Everything from the position of equipment to people is given in vivid detail, along with photos of the men and locations that were involved. Frequently, there are features called "Dime Time", which are interviews with fans and friends about their idol, Dimebag. One of the most influential and quite frankly upsetting parts of this book, is when Dime is shot on stage. The author describes it in such vivid detail that - and I am not ashamed to admit this - it brings me to tears. The fans who came to watch their idol rock out on stage, take his body, remove his guitar and hand it to a Damageplan manager, lay the body in the middle of the dancefloor, and sit in silent prayer, perform CPR, or simply sit next to the dead legend whilst the shooter is still alive and holding a hostage. Also featured in this book is the first responding police officer, and the man who shot Nathan Gale in the head with 12-gauge, 00 buckshot, James Niggemeyer. Officer Niggemeyer also wrote the foreword to this book. This book is a fantastic read, for heavy metal fans and crime enthusiasts alike, and I highly recommend it to you all. Want a TL;DR? Go fuck yourself. To finish, the quote coined for one of the most influential men in heavy metal: He came to rock, and he rocked like no other. Though Dime may have passed on, his spirit lives on in the hearts and minds of heavy metal fans worldwide. Rest in peace, Dimebag Darrell, you're rocking with angels now.
Darrel was a great musician. :patriot:
Poor Dimebag, thinking about it really makes me sad. I'll have to read this book. fuck that ex-marine. Rest in peace.
Fuck you Nathan Gale.
God damnit. I have Walk stuck in my head now. R.I.P Dimebag.
It's a fat Che D:
Fuck Nathan Gale. He deserved worse than what he got. RIP Dimebag.
I didn't really think it could get much worse than being shot in the face with buck, then having your corpse trampled on by fan upon fan upon fan. However, he is one of the few that deserved everything he did get.
