So, my brother just bought a brand new Asus N53SV-SX513V, however, it boots extremely slowly due to all of the bloatware. Is there any way to quickly get rid of it without reformatting?
Even reformatting won't do anything because it'll just restore it to factory settings including the bloatware. All you can do apart from finding a windows disk that's not from the manufacturer is uninstall them yourself.
You can always install ubuntu, it's free, easy to use, and doesn't have too much bloat.

I still see ubuntu having less bloat than windows.

Format. Or just go into the add or remove thingy and start uninstalling shit.
I still see ubuntu having less bloat than windows.
Well yes anything that's not windows has less bloat then windows, but if you're going for the least amount of bloat then using the bloatiest distro sorta defeats the purpose.
I've only expirianced two distros, arch and ubuntu. I really don't see common people installing arch easily. Is there another distro that's easy to install and run like ubuntu, but has less bloat?
It's not entirely window's fault that the computer is bloated. I'm almost positive that the manufacturer has taken part in filling the computer with bloatware. [editline]4th August 2011[/editline] On topic now: Just uninstall all of the bloatware, piece by piece, until it's all off. No need to reinstall windows.

Yeah just reinstall the OS using the Home Premium disk that your friend has, that is the fastest way to get rid of bloatware.
Reinstalling windows is somewhat extreme for removing preinstalled software. How many programs are we talking about anyway? There must be a fuckton of things running on startup to slow down a brand new Asus notebook.

a hammer to the hard drive will often remove most bloatware, or at least prevent it from running.
