Hopefully they dont fuck up the balance for this game. It's what kept me from playing the previous one.
my biggest problem was the pacing, I got 20 hours through the game and then stopped because I felt like I had made literally no progress in all of that time, and it didn't help that the main story was all that interesting.
to me, combat in divinity OS is one of the bigger flaws. everything just took forever to kill. face two skeletons? spend 10-15 minutes killing them. and the game felt unfairly difficult many times. i mean, difficulty is great but come on.

I think my only real problem I had was that, unless you were a spellcaster, you were basically entirely useless. You could barely hurt anything, you almost always had to get close to hit, you lacked area coverage. Spellcasters could nuke entire areas and combine their spells to do different things for outlandish effects. Playing a spellcaster was fun as fuck, but it was really the only way to be able to actually play the game.
personally, divinity original sin was an amazing game
in coop. but solo it was pretty grueling overall. im still hyped for 2, however.

rangers are also really good once you got 'set up' in the midgame with lots of special arrows. it basically made you a mage since you could stunlock entire groups, charm enemies, and do tons of damage overall. melee got the short end of the stick, same with rogues, especially in the harder difficulty mode.

This is what I hated so much. Every fight was so exhausting. You pretty much start avoiding every fight because of this.
I'm playing through Divinity Original Sin and I don't know if any of you played the EE but I'm finding the game ridiculously fun and the combat(so far) except for one major boss encounter hasn't really been too tough and fight's don't last longer than 5 minutes or so.
1 Sword and board, 1 2h melee, 1 archer, 1 mage is my setup and it's working great.

Also if you enjoyed Divinity: Original Sin I'd recommend Pillars of Eternity.

The reverse of this is my situation. Playing through PoE right now but never tried Divinity. Really looking forward to playing this sequel after checking out the first.
