w8 Second Life still exist ??
holy shit he lives in a 2 story house with a pool and him and his GF quit their jobs because of how much money he makes off of sex beds. All because of fucking second life money. And here I am just wasting my life at an office desk job, goddamn. What a world we live in
w8 Second Life still exist ??
isn't the coin actually kind of valuable? the game got out of hand though, i heard they don't even know what's going on inside the server anymore

Isn't there a guy on facepunch who makes streetlamps and shit for thousands?
If I was more motivated, I could totally supplement my income with my texture and modeling skills in SL, but not to this level holy shit. I've made a couple of popular mods for avatars but I typically undersell heavily so I don't make much.
with SL you've got a lot of people willing to part with their money for good ways to get dirty. The problem is SL's so fucking outdated that it's a hassle to really do much with rigging or animation, both of which are the whole point of why things like furniture are worth so much cash I wanted to do some nice models and texture work but I took a character skinning commission december '14 and I'm still trying to get the FUCKING LEGS TO LINE UP because SL's default character model is a fucking embarrassment of UV hell

Hopefully though the new skeleton SL is getting should at least somewhat fix that.

3000 a week... That's mental... I could have whatever car I wanted living like that :(
So tell me, are there any guides on how to do things like this for second life? Where may I find them?
So tell me, are there any guides on how to do things like this for second life? Where may I find them?
now this is a good question, how do we become sex-bed creating gods?
Played a bit of Second Life about a year ago, and obviously adventured into these areas. I saw entire malls with a single set of sex objects, it was just all re-textures of the same thing. Went for about 15,000 lindens for a whole bedroom if I recall right, which comes out at like $50 or so? Another $50 on top if they wanted a new texture. Sell one kit a day and it's paying more than a part time job really. Didn't even seem difficult to create either, it was just a generic script that was attached to some random household item.
I'll have to look into this. You know what's handy if I have any remote chance of success? I already have experience programming, modeling, and animating. Not a whole lot with texturing though. Any reference for what kind of scale it uses? Like how many units is a meter or what have you?

Huh. I'm wondering how hard it is to actually get into the market assuming you have 1% quality items.
It's not that hard to make some money on SL if you can model and script a bit. You can do basic mo-cap with a kinect to sell animations too. I have a friend who just recently made enough money to buy a new computer and still has enough left over for a holiday trip. You just need to have a target audience. Furries are a super easy target demographic. Just sell something shiny with the word "rave" attached and they'll flock over like moths to a flame. Also you could become a "DJ". No actual DJ skill required. Just have the ability to stream, a software like winamp or something and the ability to rip songs from youtube fast. DJ in SL basically means "living jukebox".
Furries are a super easy target demographic. Just sell something shiny with the word "rave" attached and they'll flock over like moths to a flame.
This sort of stuff apparently stopped being popular back in like 2010.
Party accessories will still sell. It's just that between 2010 and now people actually learned to give a crap about optimization. Back in '10 you could have a dude walking around with neon rave pants that would literally lower your fps and slow down the entire sim. Now people get kicked for that. People appreciate efficient scripting and smaller avatar "weight". Making rigged/non-rigged mesh clothing with good scripts (self-deleting resize scripts basically) is another way to earn money these days.
I'm glad that Linden Lab has no intention of supporting sculpted primitives or LSL in Sansar. They're basically making it a requirement to optimize your stuff or it won't be compatible in the first place :v:
Thats god damn crazy.
