2017? more like 2018/9 when you get the full game aka all DLC
Just play borderlands with the sound muted and some generic sci fi music playing and you'll have a better time.
If they pull the same shit again as they did with the first one then I aint buying it.

If Borderlands had good feeling shooting then yeah that'd be true.
I have never played Destiny

Its hard to get excited about Destiny's shooting when it's just halo with damage numbers.
I think it's better off staying on the consoles. The problems Destiny players complain about all the time would be magnified by the pc community, we've got a lot more mmos and competitive games to compare it to and I reckon its faults would stand out way more.
Besides, Bungie are not PC friendly developers (attitude-wise). Their games appearing on pc have been more a corporate decision than a developer one, I highly doubt Destiny will ever be ported if they have anything to say about it.

Halo shooting = good
Damage numbers coming off of enemies = even better
I wonder how much warframe ate into their profits.

Add shallow (albeit fun) gameplay, the same 5-6 enemy types for 3 factions, endless grind, bosses who take literally 15 minutes of shooting to die who 1-2 shots you, 0 story, etc
(Haven't played the DLCs)

I have a lot of problems with Destiny, but I can freely admit that its shooting is miles better than the shooting in Borderlands.

Destiny had many issues, the gunplay mechanics are flawless, and certainty not just Halo with damage numbers.
Yes it will come to PC. It was literally written in to the contract that Destiny 2 will come to PC.

But Halo shooting is really fucking good.
I have never played Destiny
you at least a 7th gen minimum to play the game and if you don't at least have that you wont get you're hands on it

The Taken King dramatically improved the gameplay experience.

True, a lot of those things are much better in the Taken King missions. Even though they're better ONLY in the Taken King story (which is a bit short). Hopefully it's a sign though that they worked out the kinks Destiny had to make a much better sequel, and we see an Assassin's Creed to Assassin's Creed 2 type of improvement.
They still need to fix the fact that the game has no replay value. The only thing to do end-game is to do the raid over and over again which, surprisingly, isn't fun

I think TTK was Bungie realizing "oh shit we fucked up with the initial release, lets make a kickass expansion to tide people over until Destiny 2" which will hopefully be much better.
Honestly I really like the current iteration of Destiny. It's not perfect, but it's a solid game all around. Only complaints is lack of raid matchmaking and its not on PC yet.
If they carry what they had going in Taken King into Destiny 2, it'll for sure be at least a solid 8/10 for me. The Taken King was a fantastic addition to that game.
Theres no 'will' about it. Its written in their contract. That plus the fact they are looking for people for PC related things shows its coming to pc.
I'm all for dungeon crawlers, as long as it's a decent PC release I'll probably pick it up.
It's supposedly written in the contract for Destiny 2, but what about the first one? Are they just going to leave that as a console exclusive so that you'll have to buy the console stuff if you want to get into the series in earnest?

Oh right, I remember now. "Loads of worldbuilding, deep lore!" all revealed through... what was it, flavour text or something? Randomly dropped cards? Something like that?
Is there anything I'd be missing out on by not having played the first?

Destiny had a story?
you'd get notifications ingame telling you to check the bungie website for lore cards that weren't really relevant to the main story anyway
The lore cards were great and it is baffling to me why they aren't integrated into the game but require you to bring up the bungie site on your computer or phone while you are playing.

That baffled me when I saw the pop up telling me to log into Bungie's website to learn about the shit I had just killed. How hard is it to add some text and a .jpg in a menu somewhere?
"I could tell you about everything that happened... But I ain't gonna"
Shooting mechanics and all that is smooth and really nice in Destiny, too bad it lacks in everything else, tiny tiny areas, same enemies, no story and crap bosses.
