• Uber dealt blow over driver status

Okay I don't metaphorically suck Uber's dick whenever someone mentions them, but how the hell did those courts come to the conclusion that Uber's drivers were employees and not contractors? As far as I know, they at least a) don't wear a uniform, b) work the hours they want to work and c) provide their own tools (their car). Under Australian common law they would without a doubt be classified as contractors, what's going on in America?
