A few months ago i started having this problem, where i am playing my game and the internet connection suddenly just ... stops (theres still internet, but my pc just cant detect it or something). The windows diagnose and repair dint work, only after i restart my pc i get reconnected. I'm scanning my pc now with Avast! (might take awhile) , and few hours ago Windows Defender scanned and it was clean. So its probably not the work of a virus? Any help would be appreciated

Avast finished scanning, 0 files are infected.
reinstall ethernet drivers
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew
ipconfig /flushdns
ipconfig /registerdns
netsh winsock reset
Try those commands in a command prompt. You'll have to reboot after the Winsock reset though.

Get this when i type in the first command, what now :bang:
Edit: I tried spacing the ipconfig and /release, dint work
and im in admin account
You're an admin, but the cmd window wasn't. Make a shortcut to cmd.exe and right click it and say "Run as administrator" then try again. Also, you have to have the space between ipconfig and /release.

Try ^this first.
If that does not fix your problem, look for an IP conflict. Write down all the IPs of the computers in your house. To do this, go to cmd and type ipconfig. An IP conflict can cause this very problem and it is not uncommon.

Agree. Although windows will have a balloon in your system tray that says there's an IP conflict when this happens and I hope the OP isn't blind.
lol, tried the commands, restarted the pc. But at the shutdown part, it was forever stuck there so i decided to press reset after like 10 minutes. Let's hope nothing bad happens. Thanks for all the help, ill come back if theres still any problems :buddy: btw, no balloons
I really don't know what to say on this :\
Maybe it is an issue with his router? (@Specter)
What kind of router do you have, zorkypoo?
Idk, its kinda old. Cant be my router's problem coz my sister still gets internet connection when i don't. So far there isnt any problems
I wasn't able to check this thread for updates yesterday, sorry. Anyway, you've unplugged the router for a few minutes and then plugged it back in already, right?
Yeah... and it just happened awhile back. I get disconnected for some unknown reason again as usual, only restarting the pc helped
