So this is my drawing style, pretty much. What do you guys think? This series is called Sister's Grimm and the photos were taken (by a friend with their iPhone 4) at an exhibition: The last one took a unusually long time to finish. Anyway, my inspiration for this were the Grimm Fairy Tales. They're fairly huge and one on Stonehenge paper with fineliners. The next two are just doodles (: I don't know how I can move on from this style, it's so much fun.
Patience of saint x 50,000 saints.
4th pics hands are kind of wonky, and the subject is a little repetitive, but they have a nice feel to them, if my GD opinion matters
Three words: Sick hairy shit! in a good way though! :v:
I liked everything but the last one. Last one just looks odd. Others are great though. Keep it up!
I absolutely adore the first one and the seventh one, all that hair is lovely and it has this captivating flow to it. In your drawings the anatomy seems a bit off though, for example in the 7th one her thighs are very, very long (almost the length of her whole torso) and seems to have no muscle tone (they're very flat, legs have more of a curve to them from fat etc.) Her neck is too long and her head is too small for her torso- her arms also go down to her knees. Her toes seem mangled and a bit too small, her breasts also seem unnatural. I really admire your patience though- I could never line out something so detailed! Do you sketch it out in rough first and then go over on a lightbox or something? The lines are so crisp. The colour and movement in the first painting is lovely.
Write a book. Call it 'The Anatomy of Hair'
I've never been very good with anatomy but I don't think it really matters, the work is supposed to be more like book illustrations than figure drawings. But I see your point XD I didn't really focus on the anatomy as much as I did on the over all atmosphere of the drawings. (Lol, just noticed that her anatomy resembles one of those blue lasses in Avatar). The hair.. well, I just, I don't know, drew them without tracing with a fine liner pen. I did a section at a time though so that it all flows together. And I didn't do sketches for any of my drawings, they were all done on a whim- well, each aspect of them were improvised so (:
