It'd be nice if they updated some of the assets for the release.
Would be great if they slowly started to bring out more games from Final Fantasy and other games like that.
Wait, FF8 was also considered? I remember seeing my brother play that, too, and I thought it was awesome.
"the PC versions were dubbed "extremely temperamental" on modern systems."
That's an understatement.

I know they aren't gonna HD-ify anything, hell would freeze over before they remake FF7 fully and put said remake on Steam, but it'd be great to get a moddable port that uses the fixed script and such of the old PC port but doesn't have the insane bugginess or issues it did. (like how every single FMV crashes the PC port because of how damn old they are)
I still have the old crazy triangle box thing from the PC release. Never could get it to install properly, but I would GLADLY pay for another copy if it meant it'd work on modern operating systems.
Oh man, I'd love to see FF7 on steam. It's a shame they never did a pc port of 9, but it runs perfectly fine in an emulator anyways.
Cloud saves.

It can work on modern systems with a couple of patches. You can find them both here: http://forums.qhimm.com/index.php?topic=9590.0.
and a "Character Booster" feature to max out your levels on the fly so you can get unstuck from tricky spots.
That's actually very useful. Anyone who has played through FF7 knows there are two or three spots where you can't grind, nor go back, and the only way is forward through the boss (which also happens to be one of the hardest of the game). If you're way underlevelled (like I was), it's hell.
Almost had to restart the entire game due to that the first time I played through it.

Red Dragon and Demon Wall. :tinfoil:
I've never played this game.
I've beat Final-Fantasy 7 crisis-core for the psp and I've seen the final-fantasy 7: Advent Children movie,
time to fill in missing gaps and references I didn't catch in Advent Children.

Level Aeris as much as you can before you head for the Temple. I had her level 3 limits and just made my party invulnerable while they pounded away at the Demon Wall, killed it before the invulnerability wore off.
Aeris is OP.
I've tried to play my old copy on the PC, but it seems to bug out even in a virtual machine. I've wanted to beat this game for over 12 years, so come on steam don't let me down!
if they released this for steam, i know GoG will get this as well

I really hope GoG gets it. If they do, it's an insta-buy for me.

Both of those were pretty much fluff compared to Final-Fantasy VII.
It might not seem as groundbreaking to modern gamers, but it was a revolutionary game for its time.

Which is most of it. Advent Children makes no sense at all unless you've played the game.

Fuck yes, I already have the CDs, but it's kinda hard to run and really hard to control without a controller, which I don't have.
