Gameplay kinda looks like a "easier" version of DS.
Not necessarily a bad thing though, I just hope they have interesting zones and bosses. And not just "catacombs with big guy usind a sword boss"

I saw a dev commentary and they did say it was a more easier and forgiving with death/backtracking but they also said because its more forgiving in stuff like that they are able to make really unique bosses because you can take more hits and death isnt such a hindrance on getting back to the boss, so longer fights with flashier skills and phases will be a bigger focus.
Dark Souls you cant make it too hard because of how easy it is to die, some bosses 1 shot you ng+ and beyond. Not saying souls games dont have some really great bosses, I would say Artorias and Manus are like the perfect examples of what souls can get away with and not end up being bullshit.

A lot of the hard hitting bosses in dark souls seem like bullshit at first if you try to block them as your main defense, then you get good a rolling and you win the game.

I wouldn't say easier because it seems they're going the DS2 route of focusing on the difficulty more than anything (and also hating anything that isn't a strength build, it seem). I'd say more simple.
But yeah, the more I hear about this the more I'm probably going to either wait for a sale or not get it at all.
