We're just starting on making our game but I'm bored so I made this for teh lulz. :)
So whaddya think? Would anyone play a game where you play as 2 sneaky bandits that go around the solar system snuffing people and stealing their stuff in the cover of the cold and silent blackness of space? Where you 100% utilize the freedom of movement in weightlessness and hide in the cover of the dark and absolute quiet? The game is also supposed to include puzzles based on zero-gravity physics, info gathering and cyberspace hacking. And the environments vary from spaceships, spacestations, empty drifting derelicts, and locations on the Moon, Mars etc.

...And no I've never played Dead Space or looked any of it's gameplay videos. I don't want to involuntarily get any stupid ideas. ;)
Oh and I've also got this pic of Howard "Houston" Snow, the main character. ...and you can give me scientific jargon about how his leather jacket wouldn't survive the extreme temperature changes in space and blabla if you want...

Holyshit! That's some skill you got there man.
I wish I would have the patience to do something like that. I love the second one.
Keep up the good work.
You never cease to amaze me Plutonia
At first when I saw Houston my first thought was "there is no way that was done in MSPaint", but then I clicked it and bowed down directly before my computer at your MS Paint might.
I got board, so adapted the image for your European audience.

I really like it by the way! I'm also gobsmacked at your MS Paint skills
Mature equals 18-tag on PEGI.

Thanks, Changed it.
Thanks for comments and corrections. ;)
I love that background. Is it done with spray tool and then just dark and lighter colour on the top?
And how did you get gradients on paint? Just by huge patience?
I wouldn't play the game, the concept seem kinda boring to be honest.
However, the art is A+ as usual.

What wouldn't be boring then?

The larger pic was made that way but the "cover" pic was made by drawing a 1-pixel size star for darker and lighter stars, and then copying that over and over until there was a satisfying amount of them. The spray tool sometimes leaves traces of it's use and it doesn't look as natural.

Well, going around killing people in space sounds really boring, the puzzle part sounds a bit fun (is it click n play adventure like monkey island?), but the idea of you playing someone who go around in space to kill people in space seems like something that would make pretty damn boring gameplay.

The killing is actually something that's discouraged in the game but players that want to do it can do it. There are also weapons like pistols and rifles but the player can only use the ammo that the gun has in the magazine. The entire game is more based on stealth and clever use of shadows and the 3-dimensional movement in weightless areas.
Plus, if you get into a firefight during extravehicular activity, it's 1 hit and you're dead.
And no it's not point'n'click. It's FPS (First person sneaker)

So you're part of the reason Shattered Horizon is doing so poorly!

It sounds like the STEALTH series, only in the future instead of medieval times

Thief.
Whoa! I never seen so artistic with MS paint before.

Can you make more?
So you're part of the reason Shattered Horizon is doing so poorly!
And what that reason then? And how is it doing poorly?
What a coincidence, I was going to make a thread for a game concept of my own. Thankfully mine couldn't be further from the opposite (2d pixel sidescroller based in the 1800's). :v:
Anyway this seems like an intriguing game, I would be interested in seeing how it would play out. First thing I imagined was a guy working outside in space and being able to utilize zero gravity to your advantage by maybe pushing a very large object in his direction ultimately killing him or cutting off his life support or using the very dark shadows to hide in. The character reminds me of Dark Void.
How is that possible...it's so amazing Plutonia. O_O

Right now I'm drawing the characters in their everyday outfits. The sidekick is finished and I'm just now starting on making the main character. I'm going to put them in the same picture.
Great, can't wait. :D
Excellent art, my only gripe is that you could lighten the shadows on the two figures on the cover, make them alittle more disernable

No can do. I did that intentionally. There's only 1 light source. In reality though there would be much more stars in the sky so the characters would be more visible but I didn't have the patience to do that. :)
:gonk: Its... just ...so ...awesome.
Here's Houston and Death. It's kinda inconsistent that the person portraying a Texan-accent cowboy is British, but the person portraying an Irish woman is actually Irish. Go figure. I just don't want both to be British-ish.
Oh, and I failed with using Vinnie's face. Houston looks nothing like him. But that's MS Paint for you. :)

Do you use a mouse to do these? I'd love to think you do.
Christ, Plutonia, its beautiful!

No I've been using a tablet for a little over a year now.
