Donna and Paul Wheatley of Leeds, England knew that Donna was ill, but they didn't know the extent to which her diabetes had ravaged her body until Christmas Day of 2013, when a trip to the hospital for Donna's intense vomiting revealed heart and kidney failure. Paul and Donna had been engaged for the past nine years and had talked of getting hitched abroad, but never got around to it. But when they received word from Donna's doctors that she had just days to live in April, they made the decision to be united before it was too late.
http://living.msn.com/love-relationships/man-weds-the-love-of-his-life-just-days-before-her-death well this is quite depressing :(
Damn, that is depressing. That has put a dampener on my day.
How do you manage to stand on the altar, and agree to spending the rest of your lives together with that looming over you? I couldn't ever imagine myself managing to hold up in that situation.
Still, I give Paul respect for being dedicated to her for all those years. Condolences to him and her family though..
Why would you wait 9 years ?

I'd do it, women love widowers.
Why would you wait 9 years ?
Probably hesitating. It was until now they know her time is nigh, so they make this decision.
Why would you wait 9 years ?
marriage is a pretty heavy thing to some people personally i would prefer simply living with somebody without the various legal ties that marriage brings, not to mention the fact that people change over time and a divorce brings a certain social stigma that breaking off an engagement doesnt really carry
Why would you wait 9 years ?
Money issues is usually a pretty big thing.
"Till death do us part" is something people don't honor too much these days. A lot of sadness here but I have so much respect for this guy. All the time people leave their spouse when they fall terminally ill and it breaks my heart.
