Funny that the the test of time nominees comprise 5 of my 6 favorite games. Kinda wish Fallout New Vegas was up there instead of Skyrim though.
Also why do they have to spread the voting out over a week? Come on Steam I'd rather just get it done with all at once.
fuck off, seriously hotline miami didn't get the farm animal nomination this is horseshit
also this is a pretty pleb tier list overall
Personally, I can't help but think they should've included Tales of Symphonia for "Villain in most need of a hug". Those who have played the original Gamecube game will know why.

RIGGED
I feel like i should say something about how Half-Life 3 will just be a repeat of Duke Nukem Forever, and what it would take for Valve to live up to the hype.
Also, in regards for games in most need of a sequel, we'd be looking at a pretty short list:
- Half-Life 2 Episode 2
- The Last Remnant
- Freedom Force VS The Third Reich

God i wish people would read about the shit show that was DNF's dev cycle instead of repeating this all the time.
I really hoped Hotline Miami / Postal 2 would make the farm animal category.
I still say there should have been an "award" for worst game. Even if its category wasn't something catchy like "Mommy, make it stop!".
Now that I think about it, MGSV deserves the “Whoooaaaaaaa, dude!” Award because

where the fuck is the worst unresolved cliffhanger award
No Super 3-D Noah's Ark or Postal 2 ([sp]cat silencer[/sp]) for best use of farm animal? Shit tier list.
Undertale for “I’m Not Crying, There’s Something In My Eye”? I mean, it had its moments, but I wouldn't put it that high. Little overrated, if you ask me

There's D4 too, which has an insane amount of content for being only two episodes long, but has probably the worst cliffhanger I've ever seen in a game.
Test of Time - Terraria, Skyrim, Civ 5
What the hell these all came out after 2010 of course they don't feel old?? where is roller coaster tycoon?
Disgusting

The “Test of Time" Award – This award is for the game that is just as good today as the day you first played it. Newer games may come out, but it doesn’t matter… you’ll always come back to play this one.
-Age of Empires II HD -2013- Fair enough, it is a remaster of a game from 1999 after all
-The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim -2011- That is VERY debatable
-Sid Meier’s Civilization V -2010- Ok but it hasn't aged that well in my opinion
-Team Fortress 2 - 2007- HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
-Terraria 2011- Alright
No Mount and Blade: Warband? disappointed

Spec Ops: The Line would have been a much better entry.

Doesn't change the fact that no mere mortal can make a game worth 14 years.

I dont know about that, Doom 4 took 12 years to be released after Doom 3 and people loved the shit out of it.
This list is incredibly basic with really on-the-nose titles.
Well, the “I Thought This Game Was Cool Before It Won An Award” Award is probably the most debatable award, since i'm sure the entirety of Facepunch could compile a list of obscure Steam games that definitely deserve our attention.

Well, it's definitely gives first-person shooters a door breaching kick in the right direction, though fans of Classic Doom might be itching for more. Additionally, the lack of actual modding tools feels like a missed opportunity for Bethesda to dethrone zDoom as the moddable Doom.
Love/Hate Relationship Award
- Dota 2
It's fitting, but I bet Valve inserted that themselves.
I feel cheated. I couldn't vote for Not Important in “Villain Most In Need Of A Hug”, as Steam blocks the page for Australians.
Not sure why people are criticizing TF2 for being a nominee in Test of Time though.
Sure maybe through the eyes of someone who has played it for years it's gotten old, but if you see it from the view of a new player it's really hard to tell TF2 was made in 2007.

I still have plenty of fun with TF2.
Cosmetics asside all they've done is improve balance and add new content.
Most people bitching about 'new tf2' don't even play, the core game is still there.

Must just be for you because it didn't for me

Eh, the award description doesn't really describe it like that
The “Whoooaaaaaaa, dude!” Award – Some games melt your face. Maybe it was a crazy plot twist. Maybe you just got your wisdom teeth removed. Either way, this game BLOWS YOUR MIND.
-Grand Theft Auto V
Taking things a little too literally I see
[editline]20th December 2016[/editline]
this whole list is pretty fucking disappointing tbh
i'm pretty sure those custom awards were just made up by valve
Pretty terrible how I can't vote for a game in more than one category. Witcher 3 deserves my vote in like 6 of those categories
I'm surprised no one has commented on the “Villain Most In Need Of A Hug” Award. Because not a single one of those entries have villains who need hugs. None of them are victims of circumstance or anything otherwise noteworthy. Every antagonist in each of those games are 1-dimensional, cold-blooded sociopaths, except for Portal 2 where the character is just a moron played for laughs.
