CHELSEA, Manhattan — Multiple people were injured during an outdoor explosion in Chelsea Saturday night. The explosion happened at 135 23rd St. between Sixth and Seventh avenues. It was not immediately clear how many people were injured or the severity of their injuries. The FDNY is on the scene with the NYPD. The explosion comes after a pipe bomb exploded in Seaside Park, New Jersey near the Semper Five 5K Charity Run Route. The device was placed in a garbage can.
http://pix11.com/2016/09/17/fdny-confirms-outdoor-explosion-in-chelsea/
Omg, this is horrible! :( I hope that no one dies, and I hope that the injured recover soon.
fucked up this dumpster apparently some speculation that it was an IED inside the dumpster
why'd he kick it? does he want the dumpster to get mad and explode again? fool
Fucked up. Hope it wasn't on the level of the Boston marathon bomb. That one was fucked. Hope everyone will be okay.
Preliminary reports indicate at least 14 minor injuries.
thank god
Textbook for a distraction/diversion. Someone is trying to draw police from something meaningful, and I do not like it one fucking bit.
Update from FDNY scanner, 26 causalities(not reporting any deaths at this time)
Secondary device being discussed over scanners.
This looks like a Boston Marathon copycat. Bombs exploded at a marathon for Marines earlier in Jersey(luckily it was delayed so no one was actually running the course) and now bombs throughout the city.
-snip, I was wrong-
Is this the same thing? This thread says multiple people injured, other thread says none
I think that was a couple of hours before this.

Two different bombing incidents. Like I said, someone is either organizing an attempted mass-kill event really retarded-like or this is a diversion. The whole fact that the bombs exploded in garbage cans/dumpsters seems to indicate a diversion more then anything. Take this with a grain of salt, anyone who is worth their amount in knowing how to make the explosive compound, probably also has some knowledge of proper containment methods. The fact that all these explosions haven't taken any lives, is really suspicious.
Reporting multiple active scenes now and an AK has been recovered(?)
So there was an attack on police today and 2 bombings in NYC/NJ doesn't look like coincidence
oh yeah, this is organized.
Oh god almighty dont tell me this is going to span multiple cities...
Oh god almighty dont tell me this is going to span multiple cities...
bit late, it already has
oh yeah, this is organized.
there's something bigger going on then, mission impossible shit maybe?
oh yeah, this is organized.
From the source there's no significant damage, so it could be a coincidence, but one thing's for sure - it's way too fast for a copycat attack. Here comes the shit train! [editline]a[/editline] Some sources are claiming 26+ injuries, title should probably be updated as more info comes out.
That one exploded in New Jersey earlier today, this one is in New York
Ah, the fact that it was the same charity marathon threw me, didn't realize it was in both places.
Ah, the fact that it was the same charity marathon threw me, didn't realize it was in both places.
It doesn't look like there was a charity anything going on for this one?
So it seems there are multiple explosions going on, but how big are they? The one in NY was a trash can bomb
So it seems there are multiple explosions going on, but how big are they? The one in NY was a trash can bomb
A trash can bomb that injured 25 or possibly more people.
So is the idea to put the explosive in the trashcan, and then parts of the trashcan become improvised shrapnel? Or are they just dropping them in trash cans to conceal them and get safely away before it goes off?
A trash can bomb that injured 25 or possibly more people.
Not to downplay the attack but the size often indicates how organized an attack is. A car/truck bomb could mean a large group organized an attack in getting the materials, making the bomb, and delivering it to a target. Meanwhile anyone can make a pipe bomb in a garage. I'm asking just because I would like to guess as to the number of people who assisted in the attack [editline]17th September 2016[/editline]
So is the idea to put the explosive in the trashcan, and then parts of the trashcan become improvised shrapnel?
I don't think that's the idea because that would be true for any container holding an explosive. Nothing to me stands out about using a trash can other than its inconspicuous.
Take this with a grain of salt, anyone who is worth their amount in knowing how to make the explosive compound, probably also has some knowledge of proper containment methods. Otherwise who's to say it's not just gunpowder and a steal pipe? Not saying it's not a diversion. But it doesn't take a genius to make a bomb. Or Google how to.
