The Perfect Storm - A.K.A. how I ended up looking like a pirate holding soggy socks

Thanks to a string of some odd events, I've ended up walking home wearing a tri-corner hat, holding a pair of wet socks, and wearing ripped pants.

For my English class, I needed to use a costume from Elizabethan times, so I used the closest thing I could find, which was a tri-corner hat we had picked up somewhere. That class and the two after it went fine, but then I came to my last class, Environmental Sciences. We went out to a stream to collect insects, so I put on a pair of waders to get into the creek. It was a fairly deep creek, but I thought that I was fine since the water wasn't over the top of my waders. About halfway through the class, a small wave in the water washed up over the top of the waders and promptly soaked me. After that, when we climbed up onto the bank to get out, I sank up to my knees in mud. I managed to get out with some help, but the waders were still lodged in the mud, so I had to fish those out. I thought I might be able to just rinse some of the muck I got on my arms off in the stream, but when I bent down to clean my arms off, my pants split down the middle.

With no extra clothes and no one at home to call for help, I had to deal with what I had - A hat, wet socks, and a giant hole in my pants. I can only imagine what the bikers who passed me by were thinking.
