The unknown foreign vessel the Swedish Navy searched for near Stockholm last autumn was actually a “workboat,” a senior navy official says. Local media had alleged a hunt was on to try and find a Russian submarine, which was believed to be in the area. Swedish Rear Admiral Anders Grenstad told the Swedish TT news agency on Saturday that what was thought to be a vessel or a foreign submarine was actually just a “workboat.”
Source Not an RT Source
FYI this is related to a photo taken 1 WEEK AFTER THE HUNT WAS CONCLUDED. Which means that it's not even related to the submarine hunt. [editline]14th April 2015[/editline] Holy fuck the RT writers are smug as hell about this. [editline]14th April 2015[/editline] Breakdown: The Local
On October 31st 2014, retired naval officer Sven Olof Kviman snapped a picture of what looked like a 20-30 metre long, black submarine in waters just outside Lidingö in Stockholm. The incident has remained unconfirmed, but has been classed by the military as a “potential” submarine. But Rear Admiral Anders Grenstad has now told Swedish newspapers that the Armed Forces reported to the Swedish government last Wednesday that the suspected underwater vessel was in fact only a civilian “working boat”. “The analysis has shown that the photograph taken in Stockholm's inner archipelago was of a smaller boat,” Grenstad told Dagens Nyheter on Monday.
The hunt took place between October the 17th and 24th. The picture of the suspected submarine was taken October 31st. Military analyzes it and it's deemed to just be a boat. What if it was a submarine disguised as a workboat?
So? It's an honest error given Russia's recent behaviour.
Well the Finnish shitmedia relate that picture with the sub hunt, so will rest of the world propably.
What if it was a submarine disguised as a workboat?
Isn't that straight out of down periscope? Either way it highlights the poor shape of NATO members and their military readyness, there's very few NATO members in Europe with a sizable navy anymore and it leaves holes
Sweden is not part of NATO.
We have a partnership and helps NATO with peacekeeping missions. But we're not members no. It's however being discussed if we shouldn't join fully after all because of Ukraine.
Wait, how in the fuck do you mistake a normal boat for a submarine? Even Swedes aren't dumb enough to start a massive submarine hunt over some everyday civilian boat just minding their own business. Something's fucky here.

The hunt was started on other grounds. The picture of the boat was taken after the hunt was concluded. You're right that there is something fucky going on and that's how some media have decided to report this event.
why do we allow RT as a source again?
why do we allow RT as a source again?
Entertainment
why do we allow RT as a source again?
Because sometimes we need some humour
It gives Karimatrix and Muffinzerg something to do.
