As you all know, Christmas is right around the corner. I know what I want, but not sure if I've made the right choices.
First of all, I need a new keyboard. desperately. I had this one in mind. Not for the fan or anything, it just looks good.
Even more so, I need a hard drive. 500GB - 1TB would be perfect. How's this?
And a case would be aces. Mine's a shitty Emachines. Got an email from Nvidia about free shipping, found this.
Also looking for a networking card. Not sure on my speed, but my ISP is Cox.
Pretty sure that's all, though I kinda need a new CPU fan. I know nothing about fans, so if someone could find one for me for MicroATX that'd be great. I'm also willing to learn, so explain your opinions so I won't have to come back here every time I want to buy something. Oh, and I'm not sure on a budget yet so let's try and keep it under $300. Thanks.
Specs:
CPU - AMD Phenom II X4 965
GPU - Nvidia Geforce GT 220
MoBo - Asus M4A785-M
Ram - 4Gb
PSU - Corsair Tx 750w
Spinpoint 1TBs are $70 right now but they're out of stock, so if you can, I suggest that you wait
The coolermaster 690 is $30 cheaper on newegg, or maybe consider HAF 912 for $60
I personally think you're spending too much on a keyboard but if you feel like you need something like that then go ahead
Also for a CPU heatsink you'll need to post your specs
Ah, forgot to give my specs, right.
CPU - AMD Phenom II X4 965
GPU - Nvidia Geforce GT 220
MoBo - Asus M4A785-M
Ram - 4Gb
Also forgot to mention I'm looking for a new networking card. Great OP.
You should post your PSU, along with your current case, because I think if you can, you should upgrade your GPU first

wait so is it a prebuilt?
Added, and I was planning on that after getting the hard drive and keyboard if I had the money left. My current hard drive is 120gb, I have absolutely no space. And my keyboard saps batteries like a spy. Seriously, fresh batteries will last at most a week.
Ok then. How about this:
HAF 912: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119233&Tpk=haf%20912 ($60)
HDD (both $70): Either wait for Spinpoint to come back in stock http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822152185&cm_re=spinpoint_1tb-_-22-152-185-_-Product
Or a WD 1TB for the same price http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136534 (because you don't need SATA 6.0 with that HDD)
And whatever keyboard you want I guess

as for a wireless adaptor, just get something cheap, maybe this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833166022
All looks good, as long as I can get some good fans for the case. And I'll wait as long as the 21st for Spinpoint, because the hard drive is going to be a gift.
The fans that come with the case should be enough, but if you need more fans I've heard good things about these

[editline]wefe[/editline]
well these are out of stock too.
Just grab one off here

Okay...but how can I power more fans? I've only got 2 (3-pin) connectors, enough for the fan that comes with it and the CPU. I'd like at least one more fan, for the rear.
I think most 80/120mm fans are powered by molex
What's Molex? Like I said, not too knowledgeable about fans. Also, still need suggestions for a CPU fan and networking card.
Molex are these things

For a CPU fan I heard the 212+ (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103065&cm_re=212%2b-_-35-103-065-_-Product) is nice and cheap, and as for the network card looks a couple of posts up
Ah, missed that, but I'm looking for wired. I have a router, but I figure wired's faster. Quality over convenience, I say. That CPU fan will do, I've had Coolermaster before and it's really good. I'd still use that fan if it was compatible :smith:
wired? doesn't your motherboard have an Ethernet jack
[editline]wefe[/editline]
nevertheless this will probably be fine

Yeah, but I was looking for something better. It has an onboard Realtek GBE family controller. But, if you don't think it'll make a difference, I can scratch that. Just wanted it because of generally high ping and hits not registering in TF2 (regardless how low my ping is).
I'm pretty sure that's the ISP's fault, but I can be wrong
Yeah, alright. Thought, that card is still faster than this one. I'll get it last if I have the money left.
Alright, I guess that's it. Thanks a lot, you were a big help. On a final note, any graphics card suggestions? I'm aiming for ATI.
well after you buy everything how much money can you spend towards a new GPU?
So far everything costs around $190(seeing as the HDD is a gift, and I'll have separate money), so at most around $100.
to make it worthwhile I would suggest you save up at least $200 for a GTX 460, or even $300 for a 6950
Alright. Thanks for all the help, I appreciate it.
