I don't know about any of you, but bands like Black Sabbath and Iron Maiden are like cocaine to me. Sweet, sweet cocaine... So what's everybody's favorite old metal bands (and by "old metal bands", I mean pre-90s (or at least bands that sound like they've been around since then), so no Shitknot or Syndrome of a Down's) RAPPERS, POP-TARTS, AND HIPSTERS NEED NOT REPLY! My Top 10: 1 - Iron Maiden 2 - Megadeth 3 - Judas Priest 4 - Black Sabbath (w/Ozzy) 5 - Pantera 6 - Ozzy Osbourne 7 - Old Metallica 8 - AC/DC 9 - KISS 10 - Hellfire (They're a newer band - first album came out last year - but they're DAMN good! Like, Ozzfest main stage good.)

Iron Maiden Metallica Slayer Sepultura Mayhem Darkthrone Napalm Death Godflesh The Almighty Faith No More I'd also say Pantera, but I never listened to their 80s stuff. [editline]11:25PM[/editline] Oh, and Ministry.
Well Pantera are from the 80's but they were glam metal up until Cowboys.
Megadeth, Sabbath, Maiden, Priest, Dio.. of course.. +

Blind Guardian
Helloween
Mercyful Fate
Running Wild
Sodom
Stratovarius
Testament

Van Halen Rush The Clash Led Zeppelin ZZ Top Judas Priest Motley Crue Blue Oyster Cult Metallica Journey
I see like 2 metal bands in that list.
I see like 2 metal bands in that list.
Really? I see 10 :D (You'd be surprised at what many consider to be "metal", such as Jimi Hendrix, for one.)
Well Pantera are from the 80's but they were glam metal up until Cowboys.
Metal is metal, whether it be in leather or in makeup.
Really? I see 10 :D (You'd be surprised at what many consider to be "metal", such as Jimi Hendrix, for one.) Metal is metal, whether it be in leather or in makeup.
Amen, sir.

Iron Maiden
I wouldn't consider AC/DC metal my friend, more Hard Rock. Trust me, but I would however place them in the same genre and group as those other bands [editline]09:41PM[/editline] Hahaha and I saw them last Tuesday
Van Halen Rush The Clash Led Zeppelin ZZ Top Judas Priest Motley Crue Blue Oyster Cult Metallica Journey
The Clash is Punk. Not Metal.
Really? I see 10 :D (You'd be surprised at what many consider to be "metal", such as Jimi Hendrix, for one.)
You know, just because you consider it metal doesn't make it so. But whatever.. :11tea:
hendrix isn't metal. Black Sabbath is the first metal band. Any band that came before isn't heavy metal.
hendrix isn't metal. Black Sabbath is the first metal band. Any band that came before isn't heavy metal.
Some Hendrix is pretty heavy though. While it might not be exactly what you'd call metal it could definitely have an influence on it.
It's hard rock, and hard rock is of course, an influence on metal. That doesn't make it metal though. Cream was a huge influence on metal but it's a huge stretch to call them metal.
You know, just because you consider it metal doesn't make it so. But whatever.. :11tea:
I don't necessarily consider Hendrix to be metal, and I also didn't say I would be the only one who thought that. I said some people DO consider some hard rock to be metal, just like some people consider some metal to be hard rock. It's like two different shades of a color; they're both still the same basic color, despite the difference in hue.
