Wrong subforum. You should probably be posting this in Hardware & Software. Best of luck, PCGamer!
Lol SSD dead? And posts a picture of a Samsung. [t]https://puu.sh/sHeUV/96c6404541.PNG[/t] You'll never achieve 1.5PB written on your SSD for a very long time, for a samsung that is. [t]http://puu.sh/tfZja/c9e95fcb26.png[/t] This is a Sandisk that died that same day. Half the writes! Note all report "100%" life and appear to be fine. Don't let that shit fool you, you need to check the SMART error log. The samsung continually shat out UNC at LBA errors, the SanDisk would just freeze your shit up constantly.
As much as PCGamer strikes nostalgia in me, I think it's time to take ole lassie out back.

It is not about failure from age/usage. Also pretty sure they just took the next best picture of a popular SSD, no where do they claim "oh look Samsung likes to die quick". This is a pretty useful article.

You can hit their maximum rated writes and they die. Hitting max writes is one of the failure modes for SSDs, albeit a home user is very unlikely to hit the rated max before warranty. Most of the time, these problems creep up on you and happen very suddenly. You're very likely not going to notice it happen unless you're that keen at noticing the slower i/o of the disk or running benchmarks on it constantly.
