I absolutely love old muscle cars. My dream car is an Oldsmobile 442

Look at this sexy mother fucker. Anyway, back on topic. If I ever search craigslist or whatever, all I get is inquire like this

It either needs engine or body work. That one for example has a 350 chevy in it and I'd love an olds 455. I'm pretty inexperienced at cars to be frank. I don't know much at all. What and where could I learn what I need to know?
[sp]yes I could have googled all this but this subforum is kinda dead so just making threads to keep it alive[/sp]
I to want to fix up an old car, maybe when I get a job and actually have money...
All this baby needs is some TLC http://columbus.craigslist.org/cto/2218288718.html
older opel parts are easier to come by than others...maybe some day
I need money. Like, I have none.
Restoring a car is not cheap, that's for sure
I saw something like that on the road today. Looks like a floating land yacht. Needs more offset.
I know its not cheap. I need a damn job. But I've been hoping, once I get a nice stable job, that I'll find one for about $4-5 grand or so. "Engine runs fine, might need some body work" or something like that. Shit that I can learn to fix.
dad bought the camaro for $4500 back in like 97, and we've bought everything we need (lmao yeah right am i right guys) and we've spent around $12,500 on parts so yeah $17,000 and a LOT of work. so for like the price of a civic and lots of labor you can have a nice old muscle car
and i already had a big garage and a crazy amount of tools and a lift and stuff. if you want, you can check out my thread
Yeah I saw your thread and am very impressed. I just wish I had more knowledge. Thats my main drawback.

i knew fuck all about cars before i started. i stuck with general maintenance and stuff like that with my mustang, and then i moved on and i managed to get the camaro running. then it became the senior project and shit just got real yo

I mean like, I'm learning more about engines and what not but my first and only car right now is a 94 Jeep Cherokee and I haven't had any engine problems really so if someone said "yeah this car is great but the engine needs work" I'd have no idea what to do.
if you come to the point where you have money you don't need and you want to buy a car, find someone who knows what they're doing to help you pick one, and then just tinker with it in your spare time. fix the small things that you feel comfortable doing or learning how to do online and work your way into bigger things.
I've been trying to find like an apprentinceship at a repair shop but that's hard as fuck to find.
