What E-mail account should i use? [Yahoo, Gmail, Hotmail etc]

I'm currently on yahoo mail and have had it for about 6 years. But i'm looking to change to a different account now. Mainly because of the monumental amount of spam i get. So can you guys recommend a website, and why you think its better than the rest?

Thanks guys i've decided to go with Gmail, and it's great! :D
Go for Gmail, it's simple and there are several handy applications for it for Google Chrome and Firefox. Can also connect it to your youtube account
Hotmail looks a bit messy in my opinion and it's really easy to get viruses/trojans from MSN friends that are affected.
Yahoo, no experience.
Gmail is fantastic and easily the best (in my opinion).
I switched from it from hotmail and have never looked back since!

Ignore my avatar for biasing reasons :v:
Gmail. I switched from Yahoo, too (for other reasons) and I can say that Gmail has:
1. Better spam filtering.
2. Better/cleaner user interface.
Also, if you need to, you can have all your Yahoo mail forwarded to your Gmail. I did that for a while and it worked great.
Gmail also seems to be held as much more reputable than hotmail and yahoo mail.

Wow, that sounds great.
Thanks for the fantastic feedback guys.
Also, there are no banner ads in Gmail--only single-line text ads in one area. I like that :)
Here's a link to the Gmail extension for Google Chrome (using it myself, really handy and easy):

Here's the extension for Firefox:

Google Mail is fantastic. Consider buying a domain and using that with Google Apps, it's identical to Google Mail except it looks a ton more professional.
Is it just me or is Hotmail getting worse by every day? It's like they add features and views you never fucking need and are so fucking annoying you just want to kill everyone at microsoft
AOL is ok, I like the unlimited space and the interface is alright.
Still I like gmail better.

Indeed, that and the fact that hotmail is getting slower aswell, it's HORRIBLY slow if you wanna go from an email back to your inbox.
Thanks a lot guys. I've went with Gmail. It's gonna be a pain changing the email address of every online account i have. But it'll be worth it... i hope.
GMail is by far my best free email provider, google talk is also much better than windows live messenger. (seriously that makes me puke)

Free or not free, gmail is the best. I own a domain and use Google Apps with it to get Gmail with it, I wouldn't use anything else.

Just get it to forward to your GMail account, it's what I've done.
I barely not use my Hotmail anymore. switched over to Gmail and I love it. To bad I still get some mails at my hotmail but the positive is that all my crap mail goes to that mail.
Go with Gmail.
Buy domain, setup own email server.
Then when tech support tells to contact the email service's administrator, you can say I am the administrator.
Gmail is a dream to use.
Gmail, I switched to it after my phone asked for a google account, I've never looked back its awesome.
If you really want to, create your own email system on a web server. But I would really suggest Gmail.
Probably a dumb question, but I want to make the move to gmail but can't be bothered telling everybody my new email address, or having to check between two accounts all of the time. Is there any way I can just view Hotmail messages through the Gmail interface or would it just make more sense to make use of Outlook?
I have myself using all of them, less for yahoo.
Hotmail is fine, gmail has itself being useful.
If you are able to, running your own email server is a great option. You can have it do things exactly the way you want, and it will almost certainly be faster and more powerful than free webmail.
I'd have multiple accounts, hotmail and gmail, one for serious business, and one for whatever, maybe one for whatever spam you end up with.
Gmail. I've had the same yahoo email for since 1999, and I''ve only recently changed to gmail. The spam filter IS much better, but bullshit still slips trough.
By the way, Google Voice. Make calls to real phones!

I was able to call my girlfriend when my phone was shut off. <3
GMX is pretty much the best email provider on earth
