why nerf McCree when theres characters that are more deserving of a nerf, like mei and widowmaker?
Lol seriously of all the characters who could use a nerf I'd put McCree seriously down low. DVA as well. kinda baffling to me honestly
Mei or Junkrat come to mind but mcree always seemed actually fairly balanced, he dies real easy and he's easy to ambush
I wouldn't call McCree [I]overpowered[/I], but I'd say his E+Right Click combo is just not fun to right against at all. Maybe not worth a big nerf over though, just a small tweak could fix it.

How does Junkrat need a nerf at all? He seems like he's in a perfect spot as is.
idk im just saying maybe there's a reason most competitive teams run 2 mccree
I like some of the other attackers more (Soldier 76 is so much fun) but I feel like if we don't have a McCree I have to play as him because he is just that good.
I also wouldn't mind some adjustment to Mei, even if it's just a slight health decrease. She simply does too much for one character and it feels like even when you fuck up there is always a way out.

If they made it so her slow wasn't instantaneous but instead steadily increased until you got frozen, and her heal didn't make her invulnerable or it just delayed damage, she would be much less annoying to deal with.
With Mei I'd suggest making her block breakable or removing it's heal.
I don't really know why she gets a self heal in the first place.
It's a good job Blizzard are actually taking the high level opinions into account, if they weren't we'd just see Mei and Bastion needs everywhere despite the fact that they're both kinda slightly underpowered. Whereas at high level play it's almost impossible to play a game without a Lucio and a McCree.

Mei needs to be redesigned, not nerfed. She isn't fun to play against but she isn't overpowered.
I'm fine with this, stuns suck and maybe I'll play more not Junkrat and Pharah if getting stunned wasn't as common.

that's the biggest problem with mccree and mei from a gameplay perspective, is that they stun you and can take time to kill you. McCree at least guns you down fast enough, though you're still standing there like the helpless idiot you are while he does it. Mei renders you ineffective for 4-10 seconds depending on your own health before you actually DIE, and due to the abrupt slowdown of both your movement and your cursor tracking, it's near impossible in the heat of a fight to use any of that freezing time to properly react to her being on your tail. Due to the freeze they can take their sweet time and occasionally will use emotes to wave at you before lining up a free headshot
Mcree can take out each and every tank with little effort. That's the main issue
McCree was nothing but a slight nuisance with his ult in low level plays. But once you reach the 30-40's you'll start to see just how overpowered he can be. Especially in the hands of a skilled player.
He can more or less instantly melt any tank up close with his standard abilities. Zarya is probably the only one who stands a chance, provided she can time her shield before getting stunned, and provided she can kill McCree before he rolls and gets a do-over on the fan. And with his low cooldown timers he can just retreat and do it again 10 seconds later. You wont even reach the battle before he's ready to send you back to spawn again.
"Fan is more likely to see changes than flash at this point." I hope they just somewhat change the flash mechanics too.
Its still not a very fun interaction even if he would deal half the damage while you're stunned.
Like the flash is too easy, it explodes on range, has incredibly short throwing animation, and moves really fast, you can throw it around some shields
All the fast and slippery characters are caught by it with no effort.

if he couldn't insta-wipe half the classes out during one flash's stun it'd be slightly more fun, since then he's stuck manually reloading, doesn't have his roll anymore and you're pissed and right on his heels
I could see a nerf to the AOE on flashbang being OK since when I played it in beta, you didn't have to hit anywhere near a person in order to stun. It was just a free kill on a 8(?) second cooldown.
I really don't think McCree is overpowered though? I mean i'm not in the super skilled competitive scene or anything but all things considered he doesn't seem that bad compared to some.

He's just got too much to work with. Sniping distant characters, being unmatched in 1v1, and he can kill any tank with flash>fan>roll>fan.
McCree is plainly overpowered, very low skill floor with a huge skill ceiling. Scary at all ranges (huge burst up close and accurate hitscan weapon at long), a stun that is very easy to apply, an escape that also functions as a reload, and big area denial with his ult.
Mei I can at least get away from and pick at her at a distance, trying to fly away from Mccree usually ends in me getting stunned and dying fast from getting shot in the back.

He's super overpowered, can melt any tank, instakill anyone within flash range, can snipe really effectively too.

Bastion has actual hard counters, the easiest is Genji's reflect against a sentry Bastion, if the Bastion doesn't realise in time they are dead in seconds.
McCree doesn't really have a hard counter, he's extremely flexible.
Honestly some changes that I can see which would work would be reducing the flashbang's AOE and removing the reload on roll so he can't just flash fan roll fan.
mcree flash shouldnt work on robot characters like bastion and zenyatta

He also doesn't fit the general high skill gameplay where everyone is moving around a lot. Being as still as he is, even in turret form, will get you killed very easily due to how fast pros can aim and acquire targets. They'd be able to do something like hook behind them as Widow and take them out in midair, that sort of thing.
If you play any tank hero often you should understand this. I play a lot of roadhog and hooking a mccree is a risky play because if they are good they'll just stun and unload into you faster than you can even get one shot off.
One of the most disgusting thing about Mccree's flashbang I found out recently is that you can throw it above Reinhardt's shield to stun him, which was the last little thing Reinhardt could do to hopefully avoid an instant death.
mccree is pretty insane, anyone who disagrees has not faced any who are worth their salt. dont think anyone in the game is stronger than him. widowmaker needs some reworks as well.

oh yeah lucio is pretty up there with him too. forgot about him for some reason. but lucio shouldn't get nerfed, the other supports should get buffed
people who think mei deserves to be nerfed are just bad
shes annoying to play against but balance wise shes fine
