Could you possibly elaborate on this for me please? I've been out of the loop for so long now, I barely know what is going on with half of these companies but I had it in my head that Arkane was in pretty good standing overall? Curious to know the real story there.

Yup, they have the same reputation as Platinum Games where everyone knows them as the studio that only makes great games so their publisher is going to use them for all they can.
